Today, the Kiwanis Club of Gulfport welcomed Ashley Rodgers, RN, Transition to Practice Nurse Residency Program Coordinator, and Genalyn Gray, RN, Professional Development and Education Manager, with Singing River Health System.

Ashley and Genalyn shared information about Singing River’s new RN Residency Program, designed to support newly licensed nurses as they transition from the classroom to professional practice. Members learned how the program provides mentorship, education, and hands-on guidance to help build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and support long-term success in nursing careers.

Thank you, Ashley and Genalyn, for sharing how this innovative program is helping develop the next generation of healthcare professionals on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

Today at Kiwanis, we were proud to welcome visiting Key Club member and junior, Reese Robinson.

We also heard from Mark Loughman, Mississippi Power Coast Division Manager, who shared how Mississippi Power serves the Mississippi Gulf Coast and what’s coming next — including the role of data centers, infrastructure growth, and continued economic development across our region. We appreciate the insight into how Mississippi Power is helping position our community for future opportunity and long-term growth.

Thank you to Josh Smith for the introduction and to Mississippi Power for their leadership and investment in the Gulf Coast.
