Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers, dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. Great Southern Club -Wed at noon.

The Gulfport Kiwanis Club was formed in 1921, only six years after the first Kiwanis Club was founded in Detroit. For almost 100 years, the Gulfport Kiwanis Club has worked in our comunity to make a difference in the lives of our children. The club currently sponsors two Key Clubs, nine Terrific Kids programs, and one Builders Club. The Gulfport Kiwanis Club has also partnered with others and we have purchased 17 AED's for 17 local schools in the past three years.

Technology keeps changing, and having someone to help you navigate it can make a real difference! 💻

We welcomed Dr. Tracy Daniel-Hardy, founder of the Senior Academy of Technology and Continuing Education. Dr. Hardy is a retired educator and technology director whose nonprofit helps seniors and others build confidence using computers and cell phones. The Academy also offers cooking, fitness, and sewing classes.

We enjoyed welcoming Errol LaRue, counsel for the Port of Gulfport, to our Wednesday Kiwanis meeting at the Great Southern Club! Errol was joined by Gary Pitcovich, and together they shared insight into the work behind one of Gulfport’s most important community assets.

We see the cranes and ships along our waterfront, but hearing more about the people and work behind the Port gives us a greater appreciation for its role in our community and local economy.

Thank you to Errol and Gary for joining us and sharing their perspectives! Our Wednesday lunches are a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our community and connect with others who are passionate about serving Gulfport. 🧡

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Month, Gulfport High School swimmer Tessa Colden-Davis! Tessa joined us at our Kiwanis meeting alongside her mother and two coaches as we celebrated her hard work and accomplishments.

She’ll be competing in the state swim championship this Friday, October 16, and we’re cheering her on! Best of luck, Tessa! We’re proud to celebrate you and all you’ve accomplished! 🧡

The Kiwanis Club of Gulfport honored Gulfport School District Superintendent Glen East with the John C. McFarland Community-Leader Award during our annual installation banquet on September 30.

A Gulfport native and longtime community leader, Glen was recognized for his decades of service and dedication to Gulfport’s children and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Congratulations, Glen, and thank you for a lifetime of service to our community! 👏
