Dear Families,

Spiritual growth in our children does not always happen in big, noticeable moments. Sometimes it looks like a child remembering to pray, showing unexpected kindness, asking a thoughtful question about Scripture, choosing forgiveness, or beginning to understand a truth about God. Celebrate those moments! When we notice and encourage even small steps of faith, we remind our children that following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growing to know, love, and obey Him.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.” We can faithfully teach, encourage, and disciple, but God is the One who changes hearts and produces spiritual growth. So don't overlook the small things. Thank God for what He is doing today and continue pointing your children toward Christ, trusting Him with what comes next.

Pray with us:
Father, thank You for every sign of spiritual growth we see in our children. Give us eyes to notice and celebrate the ways You are working in their hearts. Encourage them as they follow You, and help us faithfully point them toward Jesus every step of the way. Amen.

Dear Parents,

What a great 130th Anniversary Celebration we had this past Sunday. We missed gathering in our classrooms, but so enjoyed the fellowship together as a body of believers- all ages and stages! Thank you for joining us in celebrating this milestone- and on this mission!

This week, I encourage you to remind your children of this truth: the church isn’t just a building—the church is God’s people! The walls give us a place to gather, but even when the walls aren’t there, we are still the church. Talk about how God calls us to be the church wherever He places us—at home, in our neighborhoods, on the ball field, and at school. We can love others, serve them, tell them about Jesus, and invite them to be part of His family. God also calls us to help grow His church by sharing the good news of Jesus with others.

Parents, one of the most impactful ways you can reinforce this truth is by making church community a consistent part of your family’s life. Give them the opportunity to worship, learn God’s Word, build friendships, and grow alongside other believers. Those relationships matter! Week after week, they are learning that following Jesus isn’t something we do alone—we are part of a family of believers who encourage one another and point one another to Christ. It was a such a joy to celebrate that community of First Baptist Church Gulfport this past Sunday: a church who celebrated 130 years of Fellowship focused on Amplifying Hope to our community - and connecting them to life in Jesus!

Thank you for partnering with us as we teach the next generation not just to go to church, but to BE the church! We are so thankful for your family and the opportunity to grow together.

Dear Parents,

None of us wants to see our children walk through difficult seasons, but some of their greatest lessons about God will be learned in the places where life isn't easy. Trials allow us to teach our children that God is near, He is good, and He can always be trusted. James 1:2–3 reminds us that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness. The test we are walking through today can become the testimony of God's faithfulness we share tomorrow.

As parents, we don't always have to fix every difficult situation. Sometimes, we just need to simply walk beside our children, pray with them, point them to God's Word, and remind them of what we know to be true about Him. When children learn to look for God in the middle of their struggles, they begin building a faith that can stand when life gets hard. One day they may look back and say, "That was hard, but God was faithful." What a testimony that will be!

Pray with us:
Lord, walk with our family through every challenge we face. When life is difficult, help us remember that You are near and faithful. Strengthen our children's faith through every test, and may the trials we face today become testimonies of Your goodness tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Parents,

Faith grows when it is practiced. As parents (and grandparents and family), we can sometimes focus solely on the big spiritual moments in our children's lives, but God often builds strong faith through small, everyday acts of obedience. Choosing kindness when it's difficult, telling the truth, including someone who feels left out, praying when they're worried, or obeying even when they don't understand are all opportunities for children to learn what it means to trust God.

Encourage your children to take the next small step of obedience and trust God with the outcome. We don't have to know what God will do next—we simply need to be faithful with what He has asked us to do today. As our children experience God's faithfulness in the little things, their confidence in Him grows, preparing them to trust Him with bigger things in the future.

Pray with us:
Father, help our children take faithful steps of obedience each day. Give them courage to do what is right, even when it is difficult, and teach them to trust You with the results. Grow their faith as they experience Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Parents,

Our children will face countless choices as they grow—some simple and others that can shape the direction of their lives. As parents, we have the the most important task of discipling our children, and one important attribute we can teach them daily is to seek God's wisdom before relying on their own understanding in making these decisions, no matter how big or small. James 1:5 reminds us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach." What a wonderful promise! We can teach our children that they never have to navigate life's decisions alone.

As parents, we can model this by praying before making decisions, searching God's Word for direction, and asking, "What would honor the Lord?" When our children see us seeking God's wisdom, they learn that Scripture—not feelings, popularity, or the opinions of others—is our foundation for making wise choices.

Pray with us:
Lord, grant our family wisdom. Teach us to seek You first and guide our decisions according to the truth of Your Word. Help our children grow into young people who recognize Your voice, trust Your ways, and desire to honor You in the choices they make. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Parents,

One of the greatest ways we can model the Gospel for our children is through forgiveness. Every family experiences misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and moments when we fall short. In those moments, our children are watching how we respond. When we are quick to ask for forgiveness and willing to extend it to others, we give them a beautiful picture of the grace that Christ has shown us. Forgiveness doesn't ignore sin, but it chooses grace over bitterness and reconciliation over resentment.

As you lead your family this week, look for opportunities to demonstrate humility, apologize when needed, and freely forgive. Homes marked by grace become places where children learn that the Gospel not only changes our relationship with God, but also transforms the way we love one another.

Pray with us:
God, help us forgive as You have so graciously forgiven us through Christ. Fill our home with humility, grace, and love. Teach us to be quick to ask for forgiveness, quick to extend it, and eager to reflect the Gospel in our relationships. May our children see Your love through the way we treat one another. In Jesus' name, Amen.
