Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🖤💚
Today, I celebrate freedom, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of our people.
As an African American woman and Mrs. Black Ghana, I often find myself reflecting on how powerful it is to stand with one foot in the story of those who survived slavery in America and the other in a country that continues to preserve the beauty, culture, and traditions of Africa.
Over the past year, my journey has taken me deeper into Ghana, where I’ve been welcomed by communities, honored with leadership responsibilities, and reminded that our connection to the continent is more than history. It’s living. It’s breathing. It’s family.
Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom is not just something we inherit. It’s something we honor through how we live, how we serve, and how we uplift others.
Today, I honor the ancestors who endured so much so that generations after them could dream bigger. I honor the communities that continue to fight for equity and opportunity. And I celebrate the beauty, strength, brilliance, and joy that Black people bring to the world every single day.
From America to Ghana, from our past to our future, may we never forget where we’ve come from and may we never stop building where we’re going.

Happy Juneteenth, family. 🇺🇸🇬🇭👑
