Thanks to the generous support of Global City Norwich, JFS is expanding access to nutritious food by bringing deliveries directly to community members facing transportation barriers. What began as food distribution events at our Norwich office is now growing into a service that can reach more people where they are.

JFS team members recently attended Compassionate Care in the Age of AI at Fairfield University, hosted by The Patient Is U Foundation.

The event brought together leaders in healthcare, technology, law, and public policy to discuss how artificial intelligence can enhance healthcare while preserving the compassion, trust, and human connection that patients need most.

A special highlight was the recognition of Robin Kanarek, BSN, RN, Hon.D., for her outstanding leadership and advocacy in compassionate palliative care.

Team JFS was proud to participate in the Meals on Main St. Walk, joining community members, supporters, and partners in the fight against food insecurity.

It was a wonderful day of connection, compassion, and community spirit. We are grateful for the opportunity to support Meals on Main St. and their ongoing work to ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious food when they need it most.

We are proud to partner with the Greenwich Foodshed Alliance to connect local older adults with fresh, healthy food through the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program.

Thanks to this collaboration, 23 local seniors are actively using their benefits, enjoying weekly visits to the Greenwich and Old Greenwich farmers markets, and accessing valuable resources, recipes, and transportation information through JFS.

Thank you to the Greenwich Foodshed Alliance for helping make healthy aging and food access a reality for our community.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Jewish Family Services of Greenwich (JFS) is a leading non-profit social services agency serving the Fairfield County community. We provide behavioral health services, Jewish Health & Healing programming, older adult support, immigration support, immigration legal services, and food resources. We are seeking a Development Coordinator to join our Community Engagement team and strengthen our fundraising efforts. This position reports to the Chief Community Engagement Officer (CCEO).

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing professionally. The Development Coordinator supports essential fundraising operations including special events, CRM management, donor relations, prospect research, and grants management. Working closely with the CCEO, this position stewards a small portfolio of donors to help retain and increase giving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· CRM Management — Manage all aspects of donations, donor acknowledgement, reporting, lists, data hygiene
· Special Events— Assist with planning and ex*****on of the annual gala, working closely with the event committee, and smaller events
· Prospect Research — Identify new individual, foundation, and corporate prospects
· Annual Revenue Goals - Collaborate with the team and Board of Directors to meet or exceed annual revenue goals
· Grants Management — Support foundation research, prepare proposals and reports, while maintaining standard materials

Assist the CCEO with:
· Donor stewardship and retention
· Board of Directors communications
· Institutional giving and corporate sponsorships
· Planned giving

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree required
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a non-profit development department
· Experience with donor databases and fundraising software; tech-savvy and adaptable
· Highly motivated, self-starter able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ability to work independently and collaboratively
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills
· Professional, detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communications skills
· Grant writing experience a plus

JFS Norwich Director Kate Milde recently joined Congressman Joe Courtney and Michael Vaz, Executive Director of Thames River Family Program (pictured), for a regional panel discussion on the ROAD to Housing Act at the New London Community Recreation Center.

Hosted by the Center for Housing Opportunity Eastern Connecticut and the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, the event brought together housing leaders, policymakers, and community partners to discuss solutions that expand access to affordable housing and strengthen communities across our region.

Teens today face a lot of stress. SPARCS (Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress) is an after-school group at JFS that helps adolescents build coping skills, resilience, confidence, and connection in a supportive environment.
