At Monday's Great Bend Optimist Club meeting (6/8) Great Bend BatCats Coach and Founder Roger Ward spoke about Baseball Club and this year's team. Congratulations Roger on 10 years of BatCat baseball in Great Bend.
On Monday (6/15) Christina Sakcriska will share with the attendees about her business Christina's Cakes and Creations. (Hope she brings samples 😃)
Everyone is welcome at the Optimist Club meetings. The club meets at Noon Monday at the Walnut Bowl.

Put it on your calendar!!! The Great Bend Optimist Club and the Great Bend Rec are hosting the local Pitch Hit & Run competition on June 30th. Local winners might qualify for the Regional Competition hosted by the Kansas City Royals. Last year two of our local winners went on to WIN their division over all competitors in Kansas City. Pre registration is helpful, but not necessary.

At Monday's (6/1) Great Bend Optimist Club meeting, Laura Patzner and Shannon Merhoff shared about programs available from the Center for Counseling and Consultation. Among the programs the duo spoke at length about the Crisis Response program. Thanks for a very informative program.
This Monday (6/8) Great Bend Bat Cat Coach and General Manager Roger Ward will at the Club to talk about the Bat Cats roster and schedule for this year, and the ten history of the Bat Cats.
Everyone is welcome at the Optimist Club meetings held at Noon each Monday at the Walnut Bowl

The next meeting for the Great Bend Optimist Club is Monday June 1st. Our program will feature Laura Patzner and Jennifer Johnson from the Center for Counseling and Consultation.
Everyone is welcome to attend Optimist Club meetings. The Club meets at 12 Noon on Mondays at the Walnut Bowl.

Last Monday (5/18) The Great Bend Optimist Club heard from Mike Perry, Coach of the National Champion Women's JUCO Bowling team. Thanks Coach for sharing the stories of your teams (Women & Men) and some of the things that lead to your sucess.

No meeting on Monday, Memorial Day. Use this time to remember and honor those who have gone before us and the service they provided.

Last Monday (5/11) Great Bend Mayor Alan Moeder addressed the Optimist Club. The Mayor shared about the Opportunities and Challenges the City of Great Bend is working on. Thanks Alan for the update on many important matters.

This Monday (5/18) the Coach of the National Champion Barton Bowling team will be speaking. Come hear Coach Mike Perry talk about leading the team to the Championship.

The Great Bend Optimist Club meets at 12 Noon Monday at the Walnut Bowl. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.

The May 11 meeting of the Great Bend Optimist Club will feature Great Bend Mayor Alan Moeder. Come hear the latest on the City of Great Bend from the Mayor on Monday. Great Bend Optimist Club meeting are open to all interested individuals. The club meets at 12 Noon on Mondays at the Walnut Bowl.

The Great Bend Optimist Club held their annual Youth Appreciation Luncheon during their regular club meeting on Monday May 4th. Fifteen members of the Great Bend High School Class of 2026 were invited to the luncheon, based on their participation in activities at GBHS, in the community and at church, plus a solid grade point average. Each student received a framed certificate, and a Visa gift card from the Optimist Club. It's always great to hear about the clubs and activities that these students are involved in. The future looks good with leaders like these.

At the April business meeting of the Great Bend Optimist club, President John Sullivan inducted two new members. Congratulations to Aaron Raney from Iron Therapy and Dalton Dicks from Peoples Bank. Both have been active in the club for some time, and now are officially inducted into the Great Bend Optimist Club.
