Family Crisis Center would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU for these adorable Cuddle Bears & books! 🐻📚

Meagan Feril, with Usborne Books, blessed us with this thoughtful and generous donation of Cuddle Bears with the Cuddle Bear books, as well as a generous assortment of other children’s books. This donation was made possible by the fundraising efforts of Jayce & Mara Feril, as well as corporate sponsorship by Abbey Carpet and BTI.

Reading is so important for child development, and the moments shared when children and adults read together are precious. It’s a great time to unwind, laugh, and talk together! We encourage all families to make time to read together. This sweet Cuddle Bear story is an opportunity to share sweet moments and reassurances with your child, which is perfect for families who have recently experienced crisis. 👩‍🏫📚Our CAC staff had the privilege of sharing with Lincoln staff in Hoisington today. We did an activity designed to simulate walking through a child abuse case from the perspective of the child and their caregiver(s). This is such a great way to help us remember that families and students don't have the extensive training and education on brain development, trauma informed practices, and experience that many professionals do. We had some GREAT discussion and staff were so welcoming! Thank you so much for inviting us!🤝

In the spirit of giving throughout the holiday season, we appreciate your consideration at Family Crisis Center.
Our agency serves communities to empower them by raising awareness, providing resources & accurate information so that we recognize victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse in all its forms. We strive to provide advocacy, support, reduce trauma, and become the victim centered world we all deserve to live in.

What does that look like, in real life?

We provide a wide range of services at absolutely no cost. We assist with protection orders, accompany survivors to court, help victims create safety plans, and make connections for resources as families rebuild and start over. We provide educational tools and discussion guides to students and families regarding body safety, internet safety, and more. We provide a safe shelter for individuals fleeing violence. We build relationships with partner agencies to connect families with resources, support, advocacy, and therapy services. There are endless ways that we serve the community, and it is an honor to support survivors every day.

Every donation is appreciated, and your kindness touches lives close to home. Thank you so much for considering our agency, and we wish you a very blessed holiday season!

📢Calling all young artists!! 🎨 What is a Child Abuse Prevention Hero?! We'd love to see YOUR artistic design!

We are thrilled to host a contest for all of our service area youth, kindergarten through 8th grade! We are planning ahead for our Child Abuse Prevention Month activities and are looking for the perfect design for our shirts & posters. Winners will not only have their designs featured for all of our 2024 Child Abuse Prevention materials, they will also receive a generous personalized gift basket from our friends at First Kansas Bank!!

Here are the details:

⚡️Contact The Family Crisis Center for an official entry form. (message us here on FB or email [email protected])

✍️ Create a design showing what you think it means to be a child abuse prevention hero OR what a hero looks like. Have your responsible adult fill out the entry form, and return it to us at FCC by December 3.

💥No designs showing violent/aggressive images or inappropriate language will be considered. Remember- we support and advocate for keeping kids SAFE!
