Are you coming to Papa’s birthday party?? He’s turning 40 years old which is remarkable since the lifespan of prehensile-tailed skinks is 15-25 years in captivity. Come celebrate this special guy with us at 2pm this Saturday!

While he may be older, he still has a lot of s***k. Papa enjoys spending his days lounging on his branches or in his hanging pot.

We look forward to seeing you all this weekend as we celebrate one of our oldest residents!

Papa, our resident Prehensile-tailed skink is turning 40 this year! Join us for a celebration on Saturday September 19 at 2PM to wish him a happy birthday!

Prehensile-tailed skinks are the largest living species of skinks and are native to the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. They spend most of their time in trees so if you stop by to see Papa in his normal house at the zoo, he’s probably on one of his branches or sleeping in his hanging bucket!

Prehensile-tailed skinks normally live 15 to 25 years old in captivity, so Papa is truly a special guy. We hope to see you at his party next weekend!
