This , we honor and remember the courageous service members who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the strength found in service, compassion, and community. As we reflect on the meaning of this day, we hold in our hearts those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the families who continue to carry their memory.

Camp Independance osnt just about campers. It’s also about young adults from around the world coming to be camp counselors, helping children with spina bifada grow to be more independent and happy people for their lifetimes!

Kiwanis thanks all those who help Camp Independance happen!

This is such GREAT news! Congratulations to the graduates, their families and their loved ones!

And CONGRATULATIONS to The Allendale Association, its teachers, therapists, administrators and staff! You are changing difficult and shattered lives of children every day!

The Liwanis Club of Lindenhurst and The Lakes Area is proud to partner with the fine people at Allendale through our “corporate member” program!

The kids participating in the Lindenhurst Park District’s after school program were the FIRST volunteers at this years 2026 Kiwanis Community Garden opening.

The Kiwanis club worked beside the Park District staff to host approximately 15 kids from approximately 5 years to 12 years old.

The kids learned how to open a spring garden and played early onions and tomato’s. Each child was able to take a plant home to grow in their own family garden.

As exciting as learning gardening was, those worms in the compost bin won the day!

If you have a volunteer’s green thumb and would like to volunteer, please DM us. We’ed welcome your help this summer and fall.

We try to do at least one service project per month, sometimes we do more.

On Saturday, May 23, Dennis Dean and other Kiwanians were busy planting tomato’s, peppers and other vegetables for the 15th consecutive year at Caboose Park beside the Lake Villa Township offices. Take a moment and Dennis will share a bit about what we call our “signature” annual service project!
