Rest in Power, Dolores Huerta. 🕊️❤️

A lifetime dedicated to justice, equality, and uplifting workers, women, children, and families.

Her legacy reminds us that true advocacy means not just recognizing injustice, but having the courage to create change.

May her work continue to inspire generations to stand up, speak out, and fight for those whose voices often go unheard.Dolores Huerta, farmworker and civil rights activist, dies at 96

“Sí, se puede!” — Yes, we can! ❤️

Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers with César Chávez, improving the lives of the country's mostly Latino farmworkers and changing the course of the labor movement.

I've reached a place in my journey with DrinkWater Family Services where I've served so many families that I sometimes have to look back at my records to remember everyone who has come through our doors.

But every now and then, I'll run into a family in the community, and while I may not immediately remember every detail of their story, they remember how I treated them during one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

And that, for me, will always be the greatest reward. ❤️

It's a beautiful reminder that the impact of this work isn't always measured in numbers, hours, or reports. Sometimes, it's simply knowing that someone felt seen, respected, and treated with dignity when they needed it most.

They may have been one of many families I've served, but how I treated them was never just another appointment.

That's the heart of DrinkWater Family Services. 💙

Happy Saturday! 💦

A full day of supervised parenting time and parent coaching ahead!

A moment of reflection: In over five years of serving more than 40 families navigating court-mandated supervised visitation, I've had only ONE parent return for services on two separate occasions.

Every family comes to me with a different story, different challenges, and different circumstances. While every outcome looks different, my hope remains the same: that the support, guidance, and accountability provided during our time together help families move toward healthier relationships and more positive parenting experiences.

The goal has never been to keep families in our services indefinitely. It's to help them make progress beyond our doors.

This work is more than a service. It's a calling. 💙

One thing I believe strongly in is teaching children the importance of setting healthy boundaries from an early age.

Children need to know that they have a voice, their feelings matter, and they don't have to share information or engage in conversations that make them uncomfortable.

Empowering children to say, “I'm not comfortable talking about that,” and knowing that their boundaries will be respected is such an important life skill.

Healthy boundaries aren't disrespectful. They're a form of self-respect.

Another week of providing parent support.

It's been a week of new families, new concerns, and new uncertainties. Yet, through it all, one message remains consistent in my conversations with families: Focus on the things you CAN control.

There will always be circumstances beyond our control, decisions we may not agree with, and situations we cannot change. But we CAN control how we respond, the choices we make, and the effort we put into becoming better versions of ourselves.

Sometimes, the greatest progress begins when we stop giving so much energy to what we cannot change and start focusing on what we can.

One day, one decision, and one step at a time. ❤️

Saturday mornings just hit different when they're filled with happy children, smiling parents, and
family moments!

Supervised visitations are happening right now at DrinkWater Family Services, and there's nothing better than seeing families come together to share smiles, laughter, love, and quality time.

Every visit is an opportunity to strengthen family bonds.

Happy Sunday!

When supervised visitation involves 2 or more children, it is reasonable for the visiting parent’s attention to shift among the children throughout the visit. Just as in everyday family interactions, each child may have different needs, interests, and ways of connecting with the parent.
A child-centered visit can include time with the children together as siblings, along with opportunities for the parent to engage individually with each child while remaining within the parameters of supervision. The goal is not necessarily to divide the visit equally among the children, but to ensure that each child has meaningful opportunities for connection with the parent while also supporting the sibling relationships during the visit.
I love what I do!

Happy Sunday! 💙💧
Wrapping up another fulfilling weekend of parenting time at DrinkWater Family Services. After years of service, there is still something pretty magical and special about watching children laugh, play, and simply enjoy time with their parent.
These moments are a constant reminder of why this work matters.
I'm SO grateful to provide essential supervised parenting-time services that give noncustodial parents the opportunity to remain connected, present, and engaged in their children’s lives all within a safe, supportive, and child-centered environment.

Every visit matters. Every moment matters. And most importantly, the children matter. 💙
