Every neighborhood has one. The salon that holds more than appointments. For 35 years in Boston Square, that's been Mahogany's Island of Beauty.

Maxine Goodwyn has been at it long enough to do hair for mothers, their daughters, and their granddaughters. It's not just a space where customers come and go. It's community, transformation, beauty, and for a lot of people, an extension of home.

Clients come before weddings, graduations, funerals, and the job interview they're nervous about. They also come on a slow Tuesday, when what they need is an hour in a chair and someone who asks how they're doing and waits for the real answer.

Mahogany’s is more than a salon—it’s a community staple.
