Preserving the legacy of public recreation at Berthoud Pass.

Since 2003 our Grassroots Avalanche Education program has taught basic avalanche safety and awareness to more than 10,000 people. In 2010 we launched a Scholarship Fund to enable volunteer instructors to pursue advanced studies in avalanche science, safety and education.

Let's be honest — last winter's snow was rough. So this year we're making an exception: submit a short film — anywhere from 90 seconds to 5 minutes — of you getting out there and making the best of a bad season.

Please keep your content snow and backcountry-related (skiing, boarding, sledding, ice climbing, etc.). Submit as many entries as you like — keep each film between 90 seconds and 5 minutes. Preferred aspect ratio is 16:9 (this is for the big screen). Festival producers will select 8-10ish contestants. Winner of "Best of the Fest" will be chosen by audience applause. Our judging panel reserves the right to call the winning entry in the case of a draw. Or maybe they'll settle it with Rochambeau — it's kind of up to them. Contact us with any questions. Otherwise get your junkshow together and show us what ya got. Deadline October 31.
