Today was a very sad day. Our Valentina had to be brought to the vet yesterday. She was lethargic, not eating, not drinking. She had been sterilized a few weeks ago, she was going back to the vet to remove some tumors from her underside, but that was not meant to be .
She was put on IV fluids. Blood work was done . Her results: WBC are the white blood cells, are high, 46.22, the normal is 17. RBC are the red cells, are in 1.45 and the normal is 8.50. She’s not producing red blood cells because of the anemia and infection she has. BUN is the kidneys, came up with 32, and the normal is 25. She had diarrhea, doesn’t want to eat at all. Could be product of the Lyme disease. Valentina had bone marrow cancer, that was eating her insides.
She was in very bad health. When she was first rescued, they thought that she was two or three and then as time went on they increased her age to the point where they’re saying now she was probably 10 years old. My guess the condition that she was in when we rescued her, whoever abandoned
her knew that she was not well and they would’ve just left her there to die. She’s had some time being cared for unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.
She’s not producing red blood cells because of the anemia and bad infection that she has.
She didn’t react to her foster mom, She’s been like that since yesterday. Touching her and speaking to her gave no reaction. She started evacuating blood.
I was shown a photo of Valentina, which I will not post, I had to make the decision to end her suffering. Which is never one you want to make , so she was euthanized today.
One more angel watching over🌈
