The Open Door Our mission is to alleviate the impact of hunger in our community. Gloucester Food Pantry is open Monday-Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to 4 p.m.

and Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. Ipswich Food Pantry is open Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m.

Today, we were invited to attend Ipswich Middle School's awards ceremony to share the grand total raised by the Ipswich Middle School Walk for Hunger this year-- $15,448!🍎

It's truly amazing how dedicated students are to helping their neighbors access fresh, healthy food. We appreciate all of the students, faculty, families, and community members who help make the Ipswich Middle School Walk for Hunger happen 🧡Go Tigers!!👏

Hot meals will be served M-TH from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at our Gloucester Food Pantry (28 Emerson Ave Gloucester MA).

To-Go Meals will be available for pick-up this week:

We had a special visit from our kindergarten friends at Brookwood School yesterday 🍎

Their class recently hosted a food drive for The Open Door, and they were curious about where their collected food will go. 🤔

During their visit, students weighed their donation (and themselves) on our GIANT scale, had a behind-the-scenes tour of our Gloucester pantry, and learned about how their food drive will help feed real people in our community. We had so much fun🤩

The Gloucester Food Pantry will reopen on Friday, June 12

The Ipswich Community Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10 and CLOSED on Thursday, June 11. Grocery appointment availability will reflect this

An extra meal to-go will be available on Wednesday, June 10

Grocery appointments will not be available on June 11

Quick Trip emergency groceries (3–5 days) will be available every day as usual except for Thursday, June 11

SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to the Manchester-Essex High School AP Science students who harvested and donated 31 pounds of lettuce, arugula, kale, scallions, and cilantro, all grown with hydroponic towers. They've also recently added two towers donated to The Open Door by Kinship Farm and made possible by a grant from The Brace Cove Foundation and plan to grow ever more produce to help feed local people. 🧡👏🥬
