Fandom Fest has been rescheduled to October 17th

This morning, students from Sampit Elementary visited the library and the fire station. The students toured both locations and learned about community helpers. The students stayed fully engaged as they discovered the library's resources and explored the fire trucks and equipment at the fire station. And to top it all off, they even had a surprise visitor who made their day even more special!

Our hearts are a bit heavy today. Because of an 85% chance of rain and the unexpected passing of a family member, we're postponing Fandom Fest to Saturday, October 17, 2026.
We know how excited many of you were — and we were, too. Your support, energy, and enthusiasm mean so much to us, and we truly appreciate your understanding.
We hope you’ll join us next Saturday, same time, same place, as we come together to celebrate the fandoms we love and the community that makes it all special.

Stay safe, and we look forward to being with you on the 17th.

We had such a blast this summer working on this project! Georgetown County Library & Purpose Kidz

FINALLY… we can show off the finished ROARAX sign!

After a summer full of creativity, we’re excited to reveal the finished sign that will soon be proudly displayed out front alongside the steel dinosaur fabricated right here on our CNC plasma table!

“Roarax” was chosen by Lauryn from a HUGE list of names submitted this summer through the Georgetown County Library’s Name-A-Saurus program. Talk about a fun partnership!

We’re absolutely thrilled with how the final product turned out and even more excited to see Roarax officially make his debut!

A BIG thank-you to everyone who submitted a name and helped make this project so much fun. We loved seeing the creativity from our community!
