CCU Incarcerated VOICE Initiative is hosting a new event this year. Courageous Conversations will feature two pairs of speakers sharing how criminal harms and incarceration affected their relationships and what repairing those relational harms have meant for them.

One pair of speakers will be Daniel and his mother Charlotte. Daniel was a part of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Reentry Program. Several months before his release, Daniel requested a Transition Circle, a reentry planning circle based on Huikahi circles in Hawaii. The circle starts with a conversation around accountably, relational harms, and what repair might look like before moving on to things like employment, housing, and transportation.

Daniel and his family have done remarkable work together, and we’re incredibly grateful that they would share their Amazing Journey publicly.
