d through the weekends. Each participating Elementary, Middle or High School in the county school system is partnered with a local church or community organization that has agreed to fund the program for at least one year.

We are just a little over three weeks away from the BackPack Weekend Food Program’s annual fundraiser, Dining at the Chef’s Table. We are getting so excited for this special night! With fewer than 50 tickets remaining, now is the time to reserve your seat. We would love to have you celebrate with us!

We are incredibly grateful to the CaroMont Health Foundation for awarding the BackPack Weekend Food Program a grant of $10,929. This funding will help provide weekend meals for students who are not yet sponsored and will also cover the printing of our monthly health and wellness tip cards, giving families valuable resources alongside nutritious meals.

We are so thankful for CaroMont Health Foundation’s continued investment in our mission and for helping ensure that more children in Gaston County have the nourishment they need to come to school ready to learn.

Today we are celebrating the founder of the BackPack Weekend Food Program, Carolyn Niemeyer!

What began with Carolyn’s vision in 2011 has grown into a program that continues to provide weekend meals to students across Gaston County. We are grateful for the foundation she built and for the time she still generously gives as a volunteer in our warehouse and at our annual fundraiser.
