🌟 Kamp Kaleidoscope's 20th year blasted off this week with a 'Space' theme where kampers created galaxies, comets, rockets, and a customized astronaut. The space-tastic fun continued with themed games and outdoor activities, while kampers adjusted to a new program and new routine. 🌟

EVERY ABILITY. EVERY KAMPER. 20 YEARS STRONG.

For 20 years, Kamp Kaleidoscope has provided a safe, inclusive, and enriching summer experience where campers with developmental disabilities build friendships, confidence, and independence. This 6-week day camp also provides families and caregivers with peace of mind knowing their loved ones are cared for while able to maintain employment during the summer months.

We are currently seeking community sponsors to help keep Kamp Kaleidoscope affordable and accessible. Your sponsorship would directly support camper scholarships, weekly activities/supplies, field trips, and transportation, as well as specialized staffing for campers with developmental disabilities. Work Together NC is recruiting participants for the IDEAL PARTNERs research project, which aims to support individuals with IDD in finding, securing, and maintaining competitive integrated employment. This project is working to develop:

🌟an IDEAL eLearning module
🌟a virtual toolkit
🌟an artificial intelligence conversation tool (PARTNERs)

For this phase of the project, they are seeking input from:
✅Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
✅Family members or caregivers of individuals with IDD
✅Educators who support individuals with IDD
✅Service providers who support individuals with IDD
✅Employers of individuals with IDD

Unpreferred tasks do not belong on IEPs.

Completing unpreferred tasks is not a learning goal, it’s a compliance expectation. Many IEP goals unintentionally focus on endurance, obedience, or suppression instead of learning.
