People who ask for help MUST HAVE A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY DIAGNOSIS.
THIS IS SEPARATE AND DOES NOT INCLUDE MENTAL ILLNESS OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE DIAGNOSES.
**Must also be 18 or older and Gaston County resident.

Feel free to email The Arc before completing an application to confirm if the diagnosis is under IDD.

Eligible folks MUST:
*have a developmental disability (not mental illness, or substance abuse)
*Be 18 or older
*Live in Gaston County

🎃 Myers Memorial UMC is hosting their annual pumpkin patch through the end of October. 🎃
The church is at 301 S. New Hope Rd. and the pumpkins are located at the back of the property behind Advanced Auto. Prices vary between $3-$25.

✳️ Myers Memorial has been a wonderful partner for The Arc’s Kamp Kaleidoscope and we hope you will consider supporting them this fall.

A Fact about Down Syndrome 💙💛

that Down Syndrome is named after the English doctor, John Langdon Down, who in 1866 was the first to categorize the common features of people with what came to be later understood as a genetic variation?
In the U.S. the proper term is Down Syndrome/person with Down Syndrome.

It is NOT Down's Syndrome, “people with Downs”, “the Downs boy”, “the Downs baby”. People with Ds are people first.
