Don’t forget to join us tomorrow night at Keepsake Brewery for our first “Adopt a Street” community cleanup! 🌳 (and Keepsake’s new summer beer 👀🍻)

Tomorrow night at 6pm you can join us, Keepsake’s run club, or the folks from Gastonia Architecture & History Appreciation Society as we go down DTG’s Carolina Thread Trail picking up litter and getting healthy 🚮🏃🏻

We’ll start at Keepsake, head down Second avenue from Broad to Belvedere (~1.2 miles total,) and then weigh our team’s bag back at Keepsake to see who the first community clean up champion will be!🏆

You don’t want to miss it, so we’ll see you tomorrow night!

Since we are seeing posts about Durty Bull’s Christmas in July and Least of These Carolinas Christmas event, we feel it’s finally appropriate to announce…

The RETURN of the Gastonia Christmas Parade! 🎄

The contract is signed, the date is scheduled, and although it is probably too early to get in the Christmas spirit - we want to spread the word because you will NOT want to miss it! 🎅

Stay tuned for ways to register or get involved with the parade on December 5th, and get ready for more announcements and plans as we continue working with the City to make this year one of the best parades yet! 💫

At 6pm groups will gather at Keepsake Brewery to grab their clean up supplies, and will then head down different downtown streets and roads with the sole focus of cleaning up as much litter as possible 🚮

At 7:15pm groups will have their trash bags weighed, and by 7:30 an organization will be declared the winner of our first Clean Up Competition! 🏆

Whether you win or lose, everyone will have a chance to serve their community, meet some awesome people, and have some of the best drinks in town! 🍻

You won’t want to miss it!

What a night under Durty Bull Brewing’s new covered patio with the incredible Tasha White! 🎉

20 Jaycees gathered together through the rain and “back to work” vibes for a night filled with food, drinks, and networking 🍻

We heard the story of how Tasha founded her non-profit, Help Carolina , and also her journey in creating the Gastonia EbonyFest Juneteenth festival and celebrations. Both were inspiring stories for a group of young professionals aiming to develop our professional careers while also serving our community.

And stay tuned for more info on the awesome events we have coming up, because our calendar is STACKED for the summer and beyond! 🤯📅

Today’s speaker spotlight features the incredible Tasha White, founder and Executive Director for Help Carolina , and founder of the Gastonia EbonyFest Juneteenth festival ⭐️

Tasha is a life long resident of Gastonia, and is a passionate advocate for justice, equity, and community-driven solutions. With over 20 years of experience in mental health services, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots organizing, she founded HELP Carolina (Helping Everyone Leave Poverty,) to address the root causes of poverty and homelessness in her hometown and beyond.

Alongside her committed effort to address poverty and serve those in need, Tasha is also the founder of Gastonia’s Juneteenth celebrations. Beginning in 2019 at the Erwin Center, Tasha organized a community festival that included local art performances, food, music, and education on the historical significance of both Juneteenth and the impact African Americans have had in Gaston County. Fast forward to today, Tasha has secured a partnership with the city of Gastonia and now hosts the festival downtown at the Rotary Pavilion, symbolizing the success of her personal efforts and ability to create a long lasting impact through service and civic engagement.

As a mother, leader, and visionary, Tasha believes in walking alongside those she serves - not ahead of them. Her mission is simple but powerful: to ensure no one has to walk the journey of poverty alone. Under her leadership, HELP Carolina has become a trusted source of hope, support, and transformation for families across Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties, and Juneteenth has become a staple in Gastonia’s annual calendar of events.

Join us tonight at Durty Bull Brewing to hear her story, and to learn more about the awesome work we are doing to support Juneteenth and other local events right here in Gaston county!
