Gastonia Parish Nurse Ministry The FUMC Community Health Ministry is an outreach program sponsored by First United Methodist Church

Parish Nursing adheres to the concept that healing is the process of integrating the body, mind and spirit to create wholeness, health and sense of well-being, even when curing may not occur. With the recognition that most illnesses are the result of lifestyle choices, Parish Nursing draws on current health information and blends this with the beliefs and practices of a faith community to promote

health as wholeness and to prevent or minimize illness. Members are able to discuss health concerns informally with the Parish Nurse before they become serious or chronic conditions. Through Parish Nursing, congregations are learning the importance of being good stewards of their health, as well as the health of their communities.

Please join us for this inspirational celebration of Gaston County's Resilience THIS WEDNESDAY, June 29th, 6pm at the Rotary Pavilion. This is free and open to all Gaston County residents. A way to say "Thank You" to ALL OF YOU and demonstrate how we have been unified as a community through this pandemic. We'll also have a beautiful and respectful acknowledgment to honor the memory of more than 800 people who lost their lives to Covid-19.
There will be free food, beverages, snowcones, popcorn, gift bags (to the first 200), drawings for gasoline cards & grocery store gift cards, and more. We will unveil the "Resilience" art project that has been created by Tykevius McDowell and you will have a chance to add to it!
Please remember to bring a chair. I hope to see you there!

Two local organizations are holding an event to celebrate Gaston County's resilience and mourn the losses many experienced during the pandemic.
