What a blessing it was to partner with Family Life Community Center Inc this past Friday for the launch of the Gary Food Collective Community Food Co-op pilot! ❤️

We were honored to be part of an initiative that provided members of the community with household supplies, groceries, fresh meat and produce, dairy products, pantry items, and more, all at no cost.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the launch of the Gary Food Collective Co-op pilot. Your participation and support helped make this initiative a meaningful experience for our community.

And this is just the beginning!

We’re looking forward to continuing to serve, support, and be a blessing to individuals and families throughout the Gary community, especially those who are in need.

Together, we can make an impact, one family, one household, and one community at a time. ❤️

🚨 **WE’RE LAUNCHING THE PILOT.**

Friday 10/02/2026

Faith Community Center

1351 West 11th ave
Gary Indiana 46402
5:00pm till 6:30pm

The **Gary Food Collective** is recruiting families who **do not receive SNAP/food stamp benefits** to participate in our new **Community Food Co-Op Pilot Program.**

We want to test something bigger than another food distribution.

**Can we build a system in Gary where families can depend less on the grocery store because the community has built its own food network?**

Through this pilot, our goal is to provide participating families with as much of their household food needs as possible—from **fresh produce, meat, dairy, pantry items and household staples to prepared meals.**

We want to learn what a family actually needs week after week. We want to measure how much we can provide, how much money families can save, and whether a community-based food system can become sustainable on a larger scale.

This is about more than giving away food.

**We are building infrastructure.
We are building a co-op.
We are building a system.
We are testing what self-sufficiency can look like in Gary, Indiana.**

Imagine families being able to use more of their paycheck for rent, utilities, transportation, medicine, childcare and savings because **food is one less burden.**

That's the vision of the **Gary Food Collective.**

**GARY, LET'S SEE WHAT WE CAN BUILD TOGETHER.**

🌱 **THE GARY FOOD COLLECTIVE CO-OP PILOT**
*From resources… to infrastructure… to self-sufficiency.*

You are invited to attend! Please spread the word!

GARY REGIONAL FOOD COLLECTIVE
WE ARE NOT JUST DISTRIBUTING FOOD. WE ARE BUILDING A SYSTEM THAT CAN CHANGE AN ENTIRE REGION.
Let me tell you why the Gary Regional Food Collective WILL WORK.
Because we are building something this region desperately needs: a food system that belongs to the COMMUNITY, operates through the COMMUNITY, and serves the COMMUNITY.
For far too long, we have measured our success by how many people stand in food distribution lines. But what if we started measuring success by how many families no longer NEED to stand in those lines?
That's the difference between distributing food and building food security.
We have already demonstrated our ability to bring truckloads of food into this region. We have established relationships with corporations, suppliers, community organizations, churches, daycares and senior facilities.
Our greatest challenge is no longer simply accessing food. It's building the infrastructure to receive it, store it, transport it and consistently deliver it to the people who need it.
And that's exactly what we're doing.
Imagine a region where:
- Working families can significantly reduce their monthly grocery bills.
- Seniors receive nutritious groceries and prepared meals without leaving their homes.
- Daycares have access to resources that help them feed our children.
- Churches and community organizations become neighborhood food access points.
- Local businesses become part of a regional network that circulates resources instead of wasting them.
NOW IMAGINE ALL OF THIS OPERATING UNDER ONE COLLECTIVE SYSTEM.
That's our vision!
