What is Sojourner Truth House doing, you ask? SERVING!!!! 💗

Despite today’s times and the things that are currently affecting our communities, we are still showing up. We are continuing to serve, support, encourage, and be a helping hand to those who need us most.

Challenges may come, circumstances may change, and resources may be stretched, but our commitment to the community remains strong. The work doesn’t stop—and neither do we.

Every day is another opportunity to make a difference, meet a need, offer hope, and remind someone that they are not alone.

At Sojourner Truth House, service is more than what we do—it’s at the heart of who we are.

💙 STILL STANDING. STILL SERVING. STILL SOJOURNER TRUTH HOUSE. 💙

Even while being affected by the recent storm ourselves, Sojourner Truth House never stopped serving our community.

The storm may have created unexpected challenges, but the needs of those we serve did not stop—and neither did we. Our team continued to show up, support families, provide resources, and do what we could to make sure our community knew they were not alone.

We are incredibly proud of our staff and everyone who continued to serve despite facing challenges of their own. When there is a need, we will continue to find a way to serve. That is what community is all about—showing up for one another, especially during difficult times.

To our community, we encourage you to keep going. Storms may disrupt our plans, but they do not have to stop our purpose. Together, we can recover, rebuild, and continue moving forward. 💙

When Giving Back Gives Back ❤️

The staff of Sojourner Truth House had the privilege of taking a day to give back by preparing and serving a meal for the men at Brothers' Keeper - Gary. It was a reminder that even those who spend their days serving others are blessed when they have the opportunity to serve in a different way.

Thank you to Brother’s Keeper for welcoming us and allowing us to cook, serve, and share in fellowship with the men. Opportunities like these remind us that kindness, compassion, and community have the power to impact everyone involved.
