Today we celebrate Kristy, our amazing Community Resource Supervisor, on 10 incredible years of dedication and service! What an amazing milestone!

For the past decade, Kristy has been committed to serving our community with compassion, leadership, and care. Through her hard work and commitment, she has helped connect countless individuals and families to valuable resources and support. Her impact over the years has truly helped strengthen the mission of Sojourner Truth House and the lives of those we serve.

Kristy always has a big smile whenever you see her — especially while helping in our pantry! Her warm spirit and kindness brighten the room and make others feel welcomed and cared for. Kristy is truly like a rainbow, bringing joy, warmth, and light wherever she goes. 🌈🤎

Kristy, thank you for your years of dedication, your heart for people, and the many ways you continue to pour into this community. Your work has made such a meaningful difference, and we are beyond grateful for all that you do.

Sojourner Truth House’s annual Walk brings together hundreds of supporters to raise awareness and funds for families experiencing housing insecurity and hunger. We can’t do it without dedicated volunteers like you!

🧹 Community Clean up Crew
9am-noon on May 22, May 26, June 5, & June 11.
Be a part of making this day a beautiful success by cleaning up sidewalks and other areas connected to the walk.

📦 Setup Crew
Arrival: 5:30 AM
Help us bring the event to life by setting up tents, tables, signs, and supplies before walkers arrive. This role requires lifting and moving equipment.

🎉 Cheering Sections
Shift: 8:00 – 10:00 AM
Bring the energy! Line the walk route with signs, smiles, and encouragement to keep our walkers motivated and inspired.

🧹 Tear Down Crew
Start Time: 11:00 AM
Help us wrap up the day by taking down signs, collecting materials, and restoring the space.

- All volunteers must complete the volunteer form to participate.
- Spots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis—so don’t wait!
- Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Last week, we visited Sojourner Truth House in Gary and partnered with their team to support their work with women and children experiencing homelessness. Sojourner Truth House takes a holistic approach, helping women address urgent needs while building a path toward stability.

We’re grateful for their commitment to serving Gary residents with dignity and respect.
