Calumet Township recovery efforts continue. 💙

With the support of community partners who have stepped forward to assist, Calumet Township is continuing our efforts to provide food support to residents impacted by the recent storm and power outages.

Join us Wednesday, August 19th for a FREE Drive-Thru Food Distribution at the Calumet Township Multi-Purpose Center.
WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

📦 Distribution begins at 4:00 PM
📍 1900 W. 41st Avenue, Gary
⚠️ Reminder: MUST be a Calumet Township resident.

Please remember to bring a valid ID to the event.

We are grateful to the partners who have helped us secure additional resources, and we will continue working to bring more assistance into our community as recovery continues.

IDHS' August Disaster Resource Hub is now available. The hub serves as a comprehensive resource center for individuals seeking state and federal assistance and updates related to the severe weather events that began on Aug. 11.

The hub also includes the application for the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF), specifically for Aug. 11 events. Impacted Hoosiers may qualify for emergency aid grants of up to $5,000. This fund is designed to help families secure essential items like clothing and uninsured medical devices while they are displaced from their homes.

City of Gary residents, emergency resources are available at the YWCA, located at 150 W. 15th Ave.

Residents can access power, health department assistance, 311 services, and food for the first 200 people. The American Red Cross is also available at 888-684-1441 or redcross.org.
