The Northwest Indiana Urban League Young Professionals is the volunteer auxiliary group to the NWI Urban League. We target young professionals between the ages of 21-40 to empower their communities and change lives through the Urban League movement. We seek to support young professionals throughout Northwest Indiana by promoting community engagement, healthy personal and professional lifestyles, a

nd strategies that create financial self-sufficiency. We fulfill this mission by providing leadership opportunities, professional/personal development, networking events, social action meetings, and community service activities.

Thank you to the City of Gary’s fearless leader, Eddie Melton and his team for allowing us to host yet another networking mixer.

“Elevating the Standard” is a curated mixer series that aligns Young Professionals in NWI with the RIGHT connections at the RIGHT time. However, this time I was given the opportunity to interview the man behind Gary’s Greatest Comeback story!

Guests left inspired, connected, and closer to what the City of Gary’s current administration is doing to provide a better future for its residents while enhancing economic growth.
