Look for patterns together — stripes on shirts, tiles on the floor, red-blue blocks. Then challenge your child to make one of their own.

I’ve been receiving a lot of messages about the We Are The Village Basketball Camp featuring Johnell Davis, so I wanted to give everyone an update.

After five amazing years and more than 500 youth participating in our camps, we have decided to sit this year out.

We have a lot of exciting projects and programs happening this summer, and unfortunately we just can’t give the camp the time and attention it deserves this year.

We truly appreciate everyone who has supported, volunteered, sponsored, and trusted us with their children over the years. Watching this camp grow has been a blessing.

Don’t worry though, this isn’t goodbye. We are considering hosting a Holiday Basketball Tournament in December, and we’ll keep everyone posted as plans develop.

Also, We fully intend to bring it back next year and continue the tradition that so many families have come to love.

We want to give a big thank you to the City of Gary for making these printers available to the community at such an affordable price.

When I picked up our printer, the experience was top tier. Not only did they provide us with a full year’s worth of ink, but the team even helped load everything up. That level of support does not go unnoticed.

While we were there, one of the city workers mentioned a STEM program and brought up Ms Tomeka Pope . Come to find out, we already have a relationship with her and are working toward a future partnership. Small world, but that’s how you know the work is aligned.

We appreciate you all for pouring back into the community.
