" On August 29, 2026, our beloved Kenneth Williams Sr. lost his life after being shot by police while working as a security guard at the Metro station in Gary, Indiana. Nine officers reportedly fired their weapons, and more than one hundred evidence markers were reportedly placed at the scene.
Kenneth was loved by many and was always willing to help others in his community. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He was the bridge that connected friends and family. His death has left our family heartbroken, confused, and searching for answers about how this tragedy occurred.
Our family still has many unanswered questions. Given the number of officers involved and the amount of evidence collected at the scene, we believe a full, fair, and transparent investigation is necessary.
We respect the difficult responsibilities carried by members of law enforcement. We also believe that every officer must act with professionalism, restraint, and care while serving and protecting the community. Our family is seeking Answers and Accountability based on the facts.
We are asking for support to help cover Kenneth's funeral and memorial expenses, as well as the legal and independent investigative costs involved in finding answers about his death.
