Miller Spotlight

Miller Spotlight Gary's Miller Spotlight is a community initiative whose backbone organization is the MBACD. We, along with NW Hobart, are piloting this project.

Neighborhood Spotlight guides a cross-section of community members work collaboratively and collectively on improving quality of life. A convening organization, usually a community-based organization, will spearhead the coordination of neighborhood relationships. With support from Legacy Foundation staff and consultants, Neighborhood Spotlight communities will organize, decide and act upon project

s that can profoundly change their future. Miller was 1 of 2 communities chosen from a pool that started with 18 in 2014. Our convening organization is the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District.

Fest in the First will bring back free horse rides, a foam dance party and salsa in the street to Gary's lakefront Miller Beach neighborhood this weekend.

Really active final workshop of the season! Thanks to the Miller Beach Water Safety group for volunteering. We are always up for an awesome collective impact collab. Blue and green trail connectivity is something our groups advocate for ✌️🚲🌊 Thanks to everyone who made our 10th anniversary year such a success. We had 71 bikes donated this season we serviced 153 bikes and found 114 bikes new homes!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 4th workshop of the season such a success.
✌️🚲☔️⛈️We had to close a half hour early due to the massive summer storm but we received 10 bike donations, got 2 young people setup for a good bike to ride to school, serviced 3 bikes for adults riding for recreation and gave 7 bikes to adults who will use them as their main mode of transportation. Our last two workshops of the season are on 8/9 and 8/26 from 10am-noon.
