A 501 (c)(3) nonprofit membership based organization whose mission is to EMPOWER AND SUPPORT women in business and provide resources to women who want to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship. She implemented a local chapter in her own Hometown, Gary, Indiana, March, 2011

CHECK YOUR EBT CARDS, INDIANA!

More than 36,000 Hoosier households are expected to automatically receive replacement SNAP benefits after food was lost during August’s historic storms, flooding and prolonged power outages.

The federal government has approved Indiana’s request to distribute as much as $10 MILLION in replacement food benefits to an estimated 36,533 households.

And here’s the important part: eligible families DO NOT have to apply, fill out additional paperwork or complete an interview.

The replacement benefits are expected to automatically appear on existing EBT cards around September 26.

Depending on when a household originally received its monthly SNAP benefits, eligible families could receive an automatic replacement equal to 15%, 30% or as much as 60% of their normal monthly allotment.

The program covers designated areas across 19 Indiana counties, including Marion County and ALL ZIP codes in Lake and Porter counties, making this especially important for families affected by the devastating flooding and extended power outages in Indianapolis, Gary and Northwest Indiana.

Households that already received replacement benefits for the same losses will not receive the automatic replacement again.

After everything thousands of Hoosiers lost during the August disaster, some much-needed grocery relief is finally hitting EBT cards.
