Central District Organizing Project CDOP unites Gary, IN residents and allies to hold our elected officials accountable, and fight for social & economic justice in our community.

CDOP is empowerment, action, and service. We meet Mondays 5:30PM CENTRAL DISTRICT ORGANIZING PROJECT (CDOP) is a community organizing collective working together to gain power to improve the historic Midtown/Central District neighborhood of Gary, Indiana. Our organization fosters empowerment by developing residents into grassroots leaders & organizing local issue campaigns. We utilize "direct acti

on organizing" to win real improvements in the lives of real people. In accord with that mission, we also operate Anansi's Web Youth Media Action Project, a youth leadership program that cultivates youth voice and empowerment by engaging local teens in youth media, technology, personal development, and social justice activism.

1st District Councilwoman Lori Latham is asking for gently used or new coats, gloves, hats, scarves and socks for the less fortunate. Donations will be accepted until Monday, December 9th.

We are all in for Lori! It's the final push before Election Day on May 2 and time to get out the vote! Lori is a proven leader for environmental justice, public health, local hiring and sustainable development. We believe in Lori’s leadership and we need her on the City Council.
