We are the former "Lake County Minority Health Coalition". In 2016, we expanded to offer services in Lake and Porter counties and became Community Advocates of Northern Indiana.

In response to the June 11th and recent storms, Legacy Foundation, the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation, and the Town of Merrillville have awarded $395,000 to support local storm relief for Merrillville residents from the Merrillville Tornado Relief Fund. 🤝❤️

If you or a neighbor need support, local nonprofits are available to assist with insurance deductibles, utility and rent relief, home repairs, and food access.

The City of Gary has been granted use of a trailer mounted Oxygen Concentrator/Compressor unit. Our intent is to fill oxygen cylinders for home use patients affected by the storms of August 11th until power can be restored.

This oxygen fill station is open to all victims from the storms from all communities across District 1. The station will be staffed by our Gary Fire Department.

Requirements: Must Show ID | Limit - 3 Tanks Per Person
