Malu, spayed female, 4yrs old, 58lbs

I adopted her from ACS, the city kill shelter, a year ago. She is miserable and I cannot keep her contained. She is good with the kids (too much paw sometimes) and cats. Decent on a leash unless something darts, but is easy to redirect.
She's gotten out of harnesses, broken lines, removed the chicken wire and no-dig; she opens doors, and has broken through the fence.

I tried Sniffspot. She found a way out. But ended up herding an escaped donkey back--this is what she needs!

Her recent escape, she approached a 3yo and their dog attacked her, leaving significant punctures in her abdomen. Since she was attacked, she is reactive at dog parks. Can't even take her in a muzzle. That was our only real outlet.

I have posted her to adopt a pet and other sites. I've reached out to several heeler and working dog rescues, but they won't take her as a personal pet.

The neighbors are losing patience and I cannot keep up with her with my more recent health issues.

She is a great dog--I just don't have what she needs and this is not sustainable.

Thank you

Bubby, neutered male, 6yrs old, 40lbs

Collie/Blue Heeler Mix

6 years old

Neutered/microchipped male

Before you even say hello, Bubby is already picking out which toy he wants to show you first.

Bubbimus is a brilliant, goofy, toy‑obsessed companion who believes life is best lived with a ball in your hand and a pillow fort nearby. He’s the kind of dog who brings you not one toy, but a curated pile—just in case you needed options. He listens to you chatter with his whole heart, tilting his head like he’s taking notes. He is smart—super smart. He potty‑trained himself, knows sit, stay, off, down, drop it, right/left, and even “through the legs.” He responds to nonverbal cues, and yes, he can spell words like ball, toy, and out, so you’ll have to get creative when discussing plans to throw his frisbie.

Bubby is kennel trained, has had formal training for leash reactivity and resource guarding, and thrives with structure, routine, and an experienced handler. He’s never had a fenced yard, so he’s used to playing Frisbee on a long lead. He loves nose‑tapping trash cans to get your attention, despises birds and vacuums, and believes recliners are suspicious at best.

We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome him because we now have a newborn and simply cannot give him the level of attention, exercise, and consistency he needs. Keeping him gated or kenneled for long stretches isn’t fair to him, and he deserves a home where he can be someone’s daily adventure buddy.

Bubby’s ideal home is adult‑only, with no other dogs. He was raised from five weeks old and never developed strong dog‑to‑dog social skills, so he does best as the only pet. He’s anxious in certain situations—vet visits, doorbells, thunderstorms, fireworks, and car rides—and he’s not afraid to communicate discomfort if his boundaries aren’t read. He has been trained through these behaviors, but he still needs someone confident, calm, and familiar with tools like a prong collar.

He is high‑energy and needs multiple walks and play sessions a day. When his needs are met, he is affectionate, funny, and deeply loyal. He will make you laugh daily.

If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, learn from you, and bring you every toy he owns just to see you smile, Bubbimus might be your perfect match.

He needs to be rehomed by July 4th.

If you think you might be his person, we’d love to talk.

Trip
Watsontown, PA

Trip is a handsome male ACD mix. He is nearly five months old (born mid December) and weighs about 25 pounds.

He is being fostered with his brother Ollie. He is medium energy unless engaged in play with Ollie. He has more manners than Ollie, much quicker at learning what he needs to do for treats and affection. House training is still a work in progress. Racing around in the yard and hiking in the game lands are his favorite activities. Still learning about walking on leash and cooperating when it comes time to get in the van for transport. He has been living with four cats and is mostly respectful.

He is being fostered with six adult dogs and can entice at least three of them into games of chase. He is penned with Ollie when unsupervised and they sleep and/or hang out quietly together.

He is current on all age appropriate vaccinations and is on topical flea/tick preventative plus Heartworm medication. He is microchipped. Trip will be adopted with a neuter contract.

He should be with an active family with a fenced yard. He hasn’t spent any time around small children. He will initially be shy but will eventually open up when meeting new people.

If interested learning more about Trip feel free to contact his foster mom Beth at [email protected]

**COURTESY POST**

Location: Buchanan, VA

Reishi, neutered male, 2yrs old, 45lbs

Reishi is a super smart, loyal cattle dog with a little Husky and German Shepherd mixed in for fun. He would do best in a home with no children or other dogs, lots of land to run, and people who understand heeler behavior. He is fearful around strangers; however, once he gets to know you, he will be your best friend. He loves to be by your side and get all the attention. He really enjoys training and being put to work.

Reishi can be aggressive to strangers in his territory (in or surrounding his home). He has not been aggressive at the vet or in public, but is anxious. When a stranger is in his territory (his yard, home, or surrounding the home) he will commonly howl and nip at their lower legs/calf. One time he broke skin on the back of someone's leg (no medical attention required). He is muzzle trained and we keep him separated when we have visitors over to our house. His aggression appears to be anxiety based. He has not shown aggression due to food, toys, etc. He's intelligent and we believe he can improve with a lot of patience and training.

2 years old, 45 lbs

Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped

Crate trained, House trained, Muzzle trained

High energy and intelligent

Favorite things: car rides, chase, jolly ball, and tug

Can assist with transport within a 2 hour radius of Roanoke VA.

Meet Callie!

Callie is a young 2 year old around 40-45lbs.
Kid friendly, excitable with dogs, house trained and crate trained. Her energy level is medium-high for the breed. She has an off switch. Callie has a drive to be worked, training is a lot of fun for her. She is being taught loose leash walking, neutrality with dogs on walks and other foundational skills using verbal markers.

Adventurer at heart, Callie can be a flight risk. A fenced yard is strongly suggested. She is being walked with a slip lead. A martingale collar with a locking leash should be safe as well.

Callie would be happy as an only dog or with a dog who is well trained and can be a good role model for her. She will need to meet them before going home. She loves the small children in her foster home; though I recommend bigger kids due to occasional jumping. She takes treats gently. With affection she may have a giddy jump or get down and shows her belly for pets when you start petting her head. She does show prey drive towards small critters. Her person/ family will be eager continue her training and ready to provide structure to her new life. In order to continue learning, she’s going to need a good adopter who understands her drive.
Callie is shared on instagram

Callie is on monthly preventatives, she will be spayed 6/16 and will be ready to meet applicants when she is recovered (10-14 days after surgery) Lyme positive, taking a preventative course of antibiotics right now. Adopters must be willing to meet her prior to adoption.

Questions about Callie can be sent to her foster home at [email protected]

Haley
Rumford, ME

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you to Haley. She is a 10-year-old, spayed female looking for a special place to call home. Once she settles in and is given time to adjust, she is very sweet and affectionate.

Haley’s background is largely unknown, but she was fortunately rescued after being brought to a clinic to be euthanized because her previous owners were moving. Her foster mom suspects she has been a high-energy dog with very little stimulation throughout her life, which can make new experiences challenging for her.

The ideal home for Haley would have no children or cats. While she could potentially live with other dogs following a very slow and patient introduction, she should not be rushed. She is fully house-trained, knows basic obedience, and appreciates having a quiet, secluded place to relax.

Since arriving at her foster home weighing 65 pounds, Haley has been on a weight-loss journey involving a strict diet and daily walks. Her fosters are also working on building her trust and confidence outdoors.

If you have any questions about Haley, please feel free to reach out to her foster mom at [email protected]. You can also follow her progress on Instagram at .

**COURTESY POST**

Location: Glen Ridge, NJ

Josie, spayed female, 7yrs old, 29lbs

Josie is a happy, affectionate girl with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely loves people of all ages and is especially wonderful with children. Whether you're an adult, a kid, male, female, or somewhere in between, Josie is ready to be your newest best friend.

One of Josie's greatest joys in life is playing with other dogs. She's a favorite at the kennel because she can spend all day running, wrestling, and making new canine friends. She's an energetic, playful dog who would happily play fetch for hours if given the chance. Her enthusiasm is contagious, though occasionally she can be a little too excited when meeting new dog friends. She means well and just loves making connections!

Josie is in good health and thrives on a simple, consistent routine. She does best on quality dog food and dog treats only, as rich human foods can upset her stomach. Fortunately, she's not picky and is perfectly happy with her kibble and the occasional special dog treat.

At home, Josie is both a cuddle companion and a dedicated watchdog. She has an impressive bark that will let you know when someone is nearby, making her an excellent home protector. The truth is, if an intruder ever got close enough, they'd probably be greeted with kisses rather than aggression—Josie is all heart and has never shown aggression toward people or animals.

Josie is house-trained and does very well when kept on a regular schedule. Like many dogs, she benefits from consistent potty breaks and access to the outdoors. A fenced yard would be ideal for her active nature, but she can also do well with a secure runner and daily exercise.

There are just a couple of things to know about our sweet girl. For reasons only Josie understands, bicycles make her nervous and excited. During walks, it's important to keep her close and attentive when bikes are around. She also loves water and may drink more than she needs if given unlimited access, so a little management goes a long way.

We haven't had the opportunity to see how Josie interacts with cats, so that remains an unknown.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, keep you active, shower your family with love, and greet every day with enthusiasm, Josie may be the perfect match. She's ready to find a family who will love her as much as she'll love them.

Josie isn't just looking for a home—she's looking for her people.
