Please join us in Congratulating our very own Seth Landon on achieving his Environmental Educators of North Carolina Certification!
Seth is a Rock Star educator and we are super proud of him!

🎉Congratulations to NC's newest Certified Environmental Educator, Seth Landon. Seth currently works as an educator at ACE Education near Fuquay-Varina. Seth says the certification program not only changed his approach to teaching, but it also helped him find a job. “Participation in the EE Certification by itself is what got me at least one job. My instructor for Project WILD asked me if I would like to work for her as a program instructor, which opportunity I gladly took. I was then able to apply what I had learned throughout all my environmental education courses. I have found better ways to address unruly kids, get parent chaperones involved, and now have more confidence teaching in general.” Seth has a great EE story, which includes his project of creating an insect collection for the Museum of Idaho Read more at https://teachablemomentsnc.blogspot.com/2026/06/educator-spotlight-seth-landon.html

STEAM Day at Martin Middle! So excited to talk to the students!

12/04/2025

December 4, Today is Wildlife Conservation Day. On this day, we dedicate time to spreading awareness of the crimes that occur against our most vulnerable wildlife species. Poaching is one of the worst crimes that can be committed against endangered species. Sea turtles, like ones that live off the coast of North Carolina are just one of the six most commonly poached wildlife species.
Imagine having to live in a world without elephants, sea turtles, lemurs, gorillas, tigers, and rhinos.
Supporting the Endangered Species Act is one small step we can take as citizens to keep these and many other at risk species protected.
