🎉🦒 Happy 11th Birthday, Xyon! 🦒🎉

Today we’re celebrating one of Broadway Zoological Park’s most beloved residents—Xyon the giraffe! Turning 11 years old calls for something special, so our team prepared a birthday cake made just for him, packed with some of his favorite giraffe-friendly treats. 🎂🥕🌿

Watching Xyon enjoy his birthday enrichment is a great reminder of the care, dedication, and love that goes into providing exceptional lives for the animals who call BZP home.

Did you know giraffes can use their prehensile tongues, which can grow up to 18–20 inches long, to grab leaves and treats from hard-to-reach places?

Happy Birthday, Xyon! Here’s to many more years of reaching new heights! 🦒❤️

To Our Broadway Zoological Park Family,

Since opening our gates, our commitment has always been to provide the highest level of care for our animals while creating meaningful educational experiences for our guests. As many of you know, the costs of animal feed, fresh produce, fuel, habitat improvements, fencing, maintenance, enrichment, and daily operations have continued to rise.

To ensure we can continue providing exceptional care for our animals and maintain the quality experience our guests expect, Broadway Zoological Park will be implementing updated admission and membership pricing beginning July 15, 2026.

This decision was not made lightly. Every dollar generated through admissions and memberships goes directly back into supporting the animals, their habitats, veterinary care, enrichment programs, facility improvements, conservation efforts, and educational opportunities for our community.

As a family-focused zoo with a mission to Educate, Preserve, and Include, we remain committed to making wildlife education accessible while providing a safe, enriching environment for the more than 170 species that call Broadway Zoological Park home. More than half of the animals in our care are rescues or rehomes, and your support allows us to continue giving these animals the quality care and forever homes they deserve.

Beginning July 15, 2026, general admission will be:
• Adults (16+) – $15
• Children (Ages 4–15) – $13
• Ages 3 & Under – Free

We’re also excited to share that our Wagon Safari will now be INCLUDED with general admission, giving guests even more opportunities to connect with amazing animals and experience the park.

We are incredibly grateful for your continued support. Because of you, we are able to care for animals, improve habitats, expand educational opportunities, and create meaningful experiences that connect people with wildlife.

Current admission and membership rates will remain in effect through July 14, 2026. Guests wishing to purchase a new membership or renew an existing membership at the current rate are encouraged to do so before the updated pricing takes effect.

Thank you for supporting our mission! ♥️🦒

A visit to Broadway Zoological Park is more than just seeing animals—it’s an opportunity to connect with wildlife, learn about conservation, and create lasting memories. 🐢💚

Photos like this remind us why we do what we do. Through our educational programs, guests have the chance to learn about remarkable species like the Aldabra tortoise while gaining a greater appreciation for the natural world.

At Broadway Zoological Park, our mission is to educate, conserve, and be inclusive to all. We strive to make wildlife education accessible to everyone while providing excellent care for the animals that call BZP home.

Did you know that more than 60% of our animals are rescues or rehomes? Many of the animals in our care have been given a second chance, and every visit helps support their food, enrichment, veterinary care, and habitats.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or the hundredth, thank you for your support! ♥️🦒

🔥 Meet Dracarys, our incredible Black Throat Monitor! 🔥

While many of us are trying to stay cool during these hot, humid summer days, Dracarys is absolutely thriving! Native to the warm savannas and grasslands of eastern Africa, Black Throat Monitors are built for this kind of weather and enjoy basking in the heat.

Did you know?
🦎 Black Throat Monitors are one of the largest lizard species in Africa, capable of reaching over 6 feet in length!
🦎 Despite their intimidating size, they are known for being highly intelligent and can learn to recognize their keepers.
🦎 These powerful reptiles use their strong claws for digging and their keen sense of smell to locate food.
🦎 In the wild, they are opportunistic feeders, eating everything from insects and eggs to small mammals and carrion.

Dracarys spends his days exploring, basking, and showing off just how amazing these giant lizards can be. If you’re visiting Broadway Zoological Park, be sure to stop by the Reptile Building and say hello to one of our most impressive residents!

COMING SOON… meet Delilah, our newest resident at Broadway Zoological Park — an Australian Frilled Dragon! 🦎🇦🇺

Frilled dragons are one of the most incredible reptiles in the world, famous for the massive frill around their neck that they flare open when startled or trying to appear larger to predators. These prehistoric-looking lizards can even run on their back legs, making them one of the most unique reptiles guests will ever see!

Native to northern Australia and New Guinea, frilled dragons play an important role in their ecosystems as both predator and prey, helping maintain balance in insect and small animal populations. Like many reptile species around the world, habitat loss and environmental changes highlight the importance of conservation education and responsible reptile care.

Delilah is still young and will not be on exhibit just yet while she settles into her new home, completes her quarantine period, and continues to grow. Quarantine is an essential part of animal care that helps ensure the health and safety of both new and existing animals at the park.

We can’t wait for everyone to meet her in the future — trust us, she’s already full of personality! 👀✨

Stay tuned for updates on Delilah’s journey at Broadway Zoological Park!
