California’s privacy laws should protect consumers—not be weaponized against small businesses, nonprofits and community organizations. Thank you, Senator Anna Caballero, for leading the way on SB 690. Now it’s time for the Legislature to finish the job.

California’s small businesses, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community organizations owe Sen. Anna Caballero a sincere thank you.

Because apparently buying new tires wasn’t expensive enough.

California families are already stretched thin. Now the CEC is limiting tire choices and betting that higher costs today will somehow feel like savings later.

BizFed Central Valley opposes this mandate. Affordability should come before another government rule telling Californians what they can buy.

Lawmakers should focus on lowering costs, not adding self-checkout mandates that make groceries even pricier. Join the coalition at KeepCAAffordable.org

🚨 INFO ALERT: The California Assembly Republican Caucus has selected Alexandra Macedo as its new Leader.

A Central Valley voice stepping into a key leadership role is significant for our region, and we’re excited to see local representation at the table.

Alexandra has already been a great friend to BizFed Central Valley, and we look forward to continuing to work together on issues that strengthen our Valley’s economy and communities.

Congratulations, Leader Macedo!

California taxpayers are already stretched thin. So why are some city councils pushing ordinances that will further drive up the cost of everyday shopping?

Californians deserve leaders who are focused on lowering costs, not raising them.

The Central Valley isn't just another region of California—it's the engine that feeds, builds, and powers our state.

That's why policies coming out of Sacramento matter here first.
In his newest GV Wire op-ed, BizFed Central Valley President & CEO Clint Olivier breaks down why AB 1776 could create more lawsuits, discourage investment, and make it harder for employers to grow and create jobs across the Valley.

The people who live and work here deserve policies that strengthen our economy, not make it more expensive to succeed.

Discover the many real-life costs if lawmakers pass California's well-intentioned, but fundamentally flawed AB 1776, the COMPETE Act.

California can protect communities and hold bad actors accountable without putting responsible small businesses at risk.

SB 811 was intended to address concerns related to large-scale metal shredding operations, but as written, it could impose costly new requirements on small, family-owned recyclers that have operated safely and in compliance for decades.

We support a balanced approach that targets the problem without creating unintended consequences for local employers, recycling operations, and the communities they serve. Let's mend, not end, California's metal recycling industry. ♻️

Mend but don't end SB 811. Let’s fix it so all metal shredding and recycling facilities in California can remain open, writes Clint Olivier.
