Today is Descendant's Day! Are you a descendant of John W. Mallory, Sr and Sarah "Sally" Mallory of Franklin, TN?
📍 1812: John W. Mallory, Sr moves to Franklin, TN (Williamson County).
📍 1825: John’s parents, Roger and Lucy Mallory, move from Northampton Co., Virginia to join him in Franklin, TN.
📍 Pre-Civil War (1830s–1850s): Many descendants moved, settling heavily in Haywood County, Tennessee; Montgomery County, Tennessee; Logan County, Kentucky and expanding into South Carolina and Texas.

Did you know that Descendants Day was founded in Nashville? 🌿 Celebrated on the last Sunday in June, it was launched by Nashville historic preservationist Charlie Howell in 1996. He founded this special day to remind us to honor our roots and consider the legacy we leave for future generations.
Join us at the Nashville City Cemetery on June 28 to celebrate Descendants Day in the city where it started! We hope to see you this special day!
