Through an intentional match process, we at Partners pair mentors and mentees based on shared interests, personality traits, and common values. This helps yield the greatest positive outcome for our partnerships. Learn more at https://poweredbypartners.org/mentoring/

Partners volunteers, youth, and partnerships were invited for a tour of the Upper Thompson Sanitation District Water Treatment Facility! Attendees were able to ask questions throughout the tour, which was especially fun for a youth in attendance who's interested in science and biology. πŸ§ͺπŸ”¬

Activities like this are fun, educational, and help youth waiting for a mentor stay connected to the Partners community. Thank you for having us!

β€œIn one of our conversations, [my mentee and I] talked about how when she graduates, the partnership would be closed. She said how she would still like to stay in contact after outside of it. It was very sweet and nice to know we have grown a lot over our time together.” β€” Marilena Francisco, Program Coordinator and Mentor πŸ«‚βœ¨

During their midway review, a partnership was asked the following questions and had this to say about each other:

❓️ How does your mentor support you?

✨ β€œShe treats me well β€” almost like she’s a part of my family too, even though we don’t have the same skin color or live together. She treats me very kindly. I’m happy and grateful to have a mentor like her.” β€” Mentee

❓️ What have you learned from your mentee?

✨ β€œTo slow down and enjoy the moment. Just kind of being present, whatever that looks like.” β€” Mentor

Both mentors and mentees can benefit from the rewarding, fun, and transformative power of mentoring. Learn more and get involved today at https://poweredbypartners.org/mentoring/

With over 3,000 nonprofits in Larimer County alone, it can be easy to fall into the trap of competing for resources. But at Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud, we believe we are far stronger when we work together through symbiotic relationships.

Our new Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, Jennifer, recently teamed up with Alani from Partners (a fantastic local youth-mentoring organization) to discuss a new joint effort to cross-promote volunteer opportunities across Northern Colorado. Whether supporting local youth or homebound older adults, our ultimate goals are the same: a stronger, more connected community. By collaborating instead of competing, we can ensure that community members find the right place to give back.

Read more on our blog about the conversation, our commitment to collaboration, and how other local nonprofits can join the effort: https://www.lovelandmealsonwheels.org/blog/deepening-community-impact-through-nonprofit-partnerships
