Aurora residents have been organizing against plans to frack near the Aurora Reservoir and surrounding communities for over 3 years now. The State Sunlight-Long well pad was approved by the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission in April. Now, the City of Aurora has a chance to drastically impact how this operation proceeds.

If they choose not to sell their rights, operators would be required to either find different drilling routes or possibly reduce the scale of operations.

Community members will have the opportunity to voice their concerns about potentially selling the city's mineral rights directly to the Mayor Pro Tem and the City of Aurora Oil & Gas Manager. The 1-hour virtual session will take place September 19th from 2pm-3pm over Microsoft Teams.
