The Matthews House Program Descriptions

The Youth Program serves youth ages 16-21 who lack significant family support in their lives as they transition into adulthood. Many are or have been part of the foster care system or have been involved in the juvenile justice system. The Matthews House provides the resources and support necessary to empower these youth to take control of their lives, shape

positive futures for themselves and become successful contributors to their community. Strengthening Families Program is a voluntary program that provides one-on-one facilitation to help at risk families build resiliency and navigate difficulties in the areas of parenting, money management, job readiness and healthy relationships. This short term service (typically 3 to 6 months) increases self-sufficiency of families, reduces the need for children to be removed to out-of-home placements such as foster care and breaks the very cycle that leads youth to need our youth transition services later in life. Building Community at The Matthews House Community Life Center (CLC) opened in July 2012 and was created through a collaboration with Poudre School District and the Department of Human Services, the CLC is currently located at Fullana Early Learning Center, 220 N Grant Avenue. This Center serves as a consolidated location for vital services and specialized, enriching programs for families so that barriers are reduced and families can attain what they need to learn, improve and become stronger-and in turn, make our community stronger.

Still smiling thinking about this night.

From the silent auction to the birthday boxes, from the speeches to the conversations in between. The 21st Annual Celebration was everything we could have hoped for and more. Every person in that room showed up for youth and families across Northern Colorado, and we felt every bit of it.

Thank you to our sponsors, donors, auction contributors, and everyone who joined us. You made it a night worth remembering — and a community worth celebrating.

Here's to 21 years of showing up together. 🥂

Some of the most generous people we know are still in school. 💚

This spring, we were invited to share our story with students across three schools in Larimer County through the Give Next program by the Bohemian Foundation — a youth-led grantmaking program that puts real funding decisions in the hands of young people.

Those students chose to invest $4,500 in the work of The Matthews House. We are so moved by their generosity and their belief in the youth and families we serve.

Thank you to every student who listened, asked questions, and chose to give. You are already changing your community.

Do you have a green thumb and a heart for community? We'd love your help. 🌱💚

This summer and fall, we're looking for volunteers who enjoy gardening to help us maintain the outdoor spaces at The House in Old Town Fort Collins and The Landing in Loveland.

You can sign up for one visit, or many if your schedule allows.

These spaces matter. For the youth and young adults we serve, a welcoming, well-cared-for environment makes a real difference. Come help us make it beautiful.

Contact Lauren at [email protected] or 970-829-6038 to get involved.

Good beer, good food, and good company — all for a great cause. 🍺

Join us at DC Oakes Brewhouse & Eatery on June 15th from 5–8 PM for a fundraiser benefiting The Matthews House. DC Oakes will donate 10% of all sales that evening to support youth and families across Northern Colorado.

DC Oakes was built around community. From their hand-crafted beers to their commitment to giving back to the people and places they call home. We're so grateful to have them in our corner.

Bring your friends, grab a seat at the table, and help us make an impact.

See you there!

Our Birthday Boxes were a hit for a reason 💚🎉

Thank you to the incredible businesses who donated gift cards and made these mystery boxes such a fun and meaningful part of the evening. What started as a simple idea turned into moments of excitement, surprise, and generosity—all in support of something bigger.

Your contributions helped create an experience that people will remember, while also giving back to youth and families in our community.

We’re so grateful for your support of The Matthews House and for helping us turn small moments into lasting impact.

A big thank you to this young community member 💚

She and a friend recently made and sold bracelets, raising $110 to support The Matthews House.

We’re so grateful for the time, effort, and generosity behind this. It’s a great example of young people choosing to give back in their own way.
