The Matthews House Program Descriptions

The Youth Program serves youth ages 16-21 who lack significant family support in their lives as they transition into adulthood. Many are or have been part of the foster care system or have been involved in the juvenile justice system. The Matthews House provides the resources and support necessary to empower these youth to take control of their lives, shape

positive futures for themselves and become successful contributors to their community. Strengthening Families Program is a voluntary program that provides one-on-one facilitation to help at risk families build resiliency and navigate difficulties in the areas of parenting, money management, job readiness and healthy relationships. This short term service (typically 3 to 6 months) increases self-sufficiency of families, reduces the need for children to be removed to out-of-home placements such as foster care and breaks the very cycle that leads youth to need our youth transition services later in life. Building Community at The Matthews House Community Life Center (CLC) opened in July 2012 and was created through a collaboration with Poudre School District and the Department of Human Services, the CLC is currently located at Fullana Early Learning Center, 220 N Grant Avenue. This Center serves as a consolidated location for vital services and specialized, enriching programs for families so that barriers are reduced and families can attain what they need to learn, improve and become stronger-and in turn, make our community stronger.

We're excited to reveal the new Community Life Center space at First Presbyterian, a brighter, more welcoming space for our Children and Family team. This crew shows up every day for the families across Northern Colorado who count on them, and they deserve a space that reflects all their heart and hard work.

Last week some of our Children and Families team had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Strengthening Colorado Families & Communities Conference in Keystone. It was a great time of connecting, reflecting and learning how to grow in the work they do to support children and families in our community. Go team!

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ”๏ธ Calling all businesses: build a team for the 2027 Wild West Relay

This summer, teams took on 200 miles of Colorado and raised $60,000 for youth and families in Northern Colorado supported by the work of The Matthews House. We are so grateful for every runner who made it possible.

A race like this takes real training, early mornings, and months of teamwork. That's exactly why we're putting out the call now. The 2027 race runs August 6-7, from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs, and there's plenty of time to rally your crew, start training, and make it count.

This month, we're grateful to spotlight FNBO

For nearly 170 years, FNBO has lived by a simple vision: successful communities in all the places they call home. As a bank, they believe every individual deserves access to the tools, resources, and opportunities to reach their goals and improve their financial well-being.

That belief translates into real community investment through their Impact by FNBO strategy, focused on areas like Affordable Housing, Workforce Development, Financial Literacy, and Career Education. It's a mission that aligns beautifully with our own, from helping youth and families find stable housing to building the skills and confidence that create brighter futures across Northern Colorado.

When a partner invests in stability, opportunity, and the next generation, they're investing in the very things that help our community thrive. Thank you, FNBO , for showing up.

We are so grateful! ๐Ÿ’š

The Matthews House has been selected for a Starbucks Neighborhood Grant, thanks to local Starbucks partners (employees) who nominated us in recognition of the work we're doing in our community.

This year, Starbucks partners submitted more than 43,000 nominations across the U.S. and Canada, and we're honored to be among the 2,700+ organizations selected, each working to empower youth, fight hunger, uplift families, and address homelessness.

To the Starbucks partners who thought of us, and to The Starbucks Foundation for investing in the places we all call home: thank you for standing with youth and families across Northern Colorado.

This week, about 6,000 students moved into the CSU dormsโ€”and three of them are former Landing youth! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Through the Ram Transfer Academy (RTA), these three young people are starting college with stable housing, support, and access to CSU resources while they work toward their degrees.

We couldnโ€™t be prouder of them and all theyโ€™ve accomplished!

Go Rams! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›
