✍️ YIMBY Fort Collins volunteers are invited to canvass this Saturday @ 3 PM @ Ballmer Peak Distillery to help Lakewood fight a NIMBY petition effort to repeal its recent pro-housing land use reforms. 💪 We’ll canvass alongside YIMBY Denver until about 5:30 PM and afterwards head back to the distillery for a happy hour to celebrate the progress that housing has made in Lakewood and across the state. 🍻 Let us know if you want to carpool down.

👍 Lakewood passed Colorado’s boldest pro-housing policy.
👎 Now opponents want to overturn it in a low-turnout April election.
‼️ If we lose here, every Colorado city trying reform becomes a target.

Sound familiar to our land use code fight in Fort Collins? The difference in Lakewood is that they are putting it all on the line with a special election ballot. 🗳️ Success on April 7th in Lakewood could translate to success across the Front Range and strengthen the case for missing-middle housing reforms in our own back yard. 🏠

Working Coloradans are forced into long commutes because they can’t afford living in the communities they work in. The HOME Act (HB1001) would create more housing so that:
🩺 Nurses
🍎 Teachers
🚒 Firefighters
can afford to live in the communities they support. Tell lawmakers to vote YES on

Colorado has the second-worst housing shortage in the country. We need to build +34K homes each year to stop it from getting worse. The HOME Act can help us close the gap. Tell lawmakers to support to create more housing.

CO renters spend more than 30% of their income on housing ‼️The HOME Act builds on our work to build affordable housing in the communities where Coloradans work and build their lives. Tell state lawmakers to vote YES on

🎤 YIMBY co-lead Klara Rossouw has convened a panel to share our organizing strategies from the U+2 repeal 💪 Join us at The Symposium by CSU Inclusive Excellence, virtually on Wednesday, November 5 at 4-5 pm 🌟 Klara will share the stage with panelists Adam Eggleston, Madeleine Kamberg, Em Myler, and Jorja Whyte ⚡️ Register at https://events.ringcentral.com/events/the-symposium-2025/registration?fbclid=PAdGRleANuaEVleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABpyAH0gntd3NHAE35fUW4rS53673aIbzzKeE1kDm58ZNWqSQfhiX9o_gBsgtD_aem_I1RvWTs73c93kYNPdIcbFQ

Students are deeply affected by the housing crisis—and uniquely positioned to lead change. This panel explores how students can influence local housing policy through organizing, advocacy, and civic engagement. Using the recent repeal of Fort Collins’ U+2 ordinance as a case study, panelists will share strategies for making an impact, building coalitions, and shifting the conversation. Attendees will leave with concrete ways to get involved and advocate for more housing.
