Farmington Youth Assistance (FYA) is seeking nominations for its 41st Annual Youth Recognition Awards. We are looking for YOUTH or YOUTH GROUPS who deserve recognition for their extensive service, but who may not normally receive it from the community at large. One of the goals of Farmington Youth Assistance is to encourage positive examples of youth volunteerism. Nominate the deserving youth or youth group for the awards!

Celebrate National Literacy Month with Two Family Literacy Nights!

FPS Community Support Services, in collaboration with Farmington Youth Assistance, is excited to host two distinct Family Literacy Night events this year to celebrate National Literacy Month.

Holiday Angels 2025

Farmington Youth Assistance, in collaboration with FPS's FPS Community Support Services department, is hosting the Holiday Angels Program this year. This program is designed to provide essential support to families who may face challenges in affording gifts and necessities during the holiday season. Unlike many programs that focus on younger children, the Holiday Angels Program specifically aims to assist children aged 13 to 18. Through this program, families in need can receive the crucial support they need to celebrate the holidays with joy and dignity.

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the 2025 Summer High School Book Club!

Farmington Youth Assistance is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative tailored specifically for high school students, which integrates reading and enrichment. This book club is presented in collaboration with Operation Common Good and the FPS Community Support Services of Farmington Public Schools.

The book club is open to all incoming 9th to 12th-grade FPS students and hosted at Farmington Community Library (Downtown Branch, 23500 Liberty St, Farmington, MI 48335) on August 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Thanks to the generous support of the Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families, for providing the financial support to keep it low-cost. We extend our gratitude to the Farmington Community Library for providing the facility to host this exciting book club. Book and Snacks will be provided.

Farmington Youth Assistance is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative: Dining Etiquette for Teens, specifically designed for high school students.

This Modern Manners program provides teens with essential tools to navigate a complex world with kindness, class, and confidence. Conducted over an elegant three-course meal, the program empowers participants to enhance their behavior and create a more comfortable environment for themselves and those around them. It is facilitated by the Detroit Academy of Etiquette and presented in collaboration with Operation Common Good and the FPS Community Support Services of Farmington Public Schools.

The program is open to all incoming 9th to 12th-grade FPS students and will take place at Vive Restaurant, located at 3080 Northwestern Hwy, West Bloomfield Township, MI, on August 13th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Thanks to the generous financial support of the Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families, which has covered the facilitator's fee, the participation cost for each student is $60. This fee includes a three-course meal and a guided etiquette lesson delivered by a certified etiquette coach. Please dress in your best attire, such as formal or business casual clothing.

This program is quite popular, and spots are extremely limited. We encourage you to complete the registration form promptly to secure your spot, as registrations will be processed in the order they are received.

Farmington Youth Assistance is excited to present a dynamic All-Day Summer Camp designed specifically for middle school (incoming 7th to 9th-grade) students. This camp is in collaboration with the FPS Community Support Services of Farmington Public Schools and Operation Common Good.

This hands-on All-Day Summer Camp will feature various activities, including Math Camp, STEM Camp, Book Club, and enriching music & team-building activities.

The camp is open to all incoming 7th to 9th-grade FPS students and will take place in Rooms 703, 704, 706, and the Robotics Shop at Farmington High School on July 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Thanks to the generous support of the Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families, this camp is FREE* (please see the fee section below for details). We extend our gratitude to Farmington Public Schools for providing the facilities to host this exciting camp. Lunch and snacks will be provided to keep participants energized and engaged.

Fees:**

To help us plan better and encourage stronger commitment from participants, we are implementing a small fee. While the camp is FREE, we require an upfront payment of $40 for all four days. If your child attends each day, we will refund the entire amount!
You can pay by credit card online or bring cash or a check to our office by July 18th. Our office is located at 32789 W 10 Mile Road, Farmington, MI 48336.

We understand that finances can be tight, so we are pleased to offer scholarships for families who may need assistance. We want to ensure that every child has an opportunity to participate in this fun experience!

The FPS Community Support Services is collecting school supplies for McKinney-Vento (homeless) families, families in the free and reduced lunch program, clients of the Oakland County Foster Closet, and other families in need. This initiative aims to support these families for the upcoming school year. Supplies will be distributed at the Back-to-School event on August 16, 2025.

We are partnering with the Farmington Community Library, Oakland County Foster Closet, The Gathering Church, and Farmington Youth Assistance, and we invite your organization to join us. If interested in donating, please sign up for the items you can provide.

Yesterday, Farmington Youth Assistance celebrated five individuals and three groups for their outstanding volunteer contributions to the community during an awards breakfast. The superintendent of Farmington Public Schools, dignitaries from the City of Farmington Hills, Michigan - Municipal Government, Farmington Public Schools, Farmington Public Safety, and Oakland County Youth Assistance commended the award recipients for their remarkable efforts.

Congratulations to all the award winners!

Everyone savored breakfast provided by Farmhouse Coffee and Ice Cream, along with special cookies from Chocolate Chipped Bakery. A heartfelt thank you for your generous discounts!

Farmington Youth Assistance(FYA) is now accepting nominations for its 40th Annual Youth Recognition Awards. We are looking for individual youth or youth groups who deserve recognition for their outstanding service but may not typically receive it from the community. One of the goals of Farmington Youth Assistance is to promote positive examples of youth volunteerism. To honor these deserving youth, we need your help in identifying them.
