👶 Community Request: Baby Bassinet or Pack 'n Play Needed! 👶

We are currently looking for a gently used baby bassinet or Pack 'n Play for a local family.

To ensure the safety and comfort of the little ones we serve, we can only accept items that are clean, lightly used, and in overall great condition. (Please note that we are unable to accept older, worn, or damaged items.)

****If you have one to donate, you can drop it off at Childhaven's San Juan CASA at 811 W Apache St Farmington.

A huge thank you to wh***ey and lace hair parlour (located at 112 S Commercial Ave here in Farmington) for generously donating their time and talents to give fresh haircuts to the male youth at Childhaven! ✂️💈

Growing up can be tough, but being a child or teenager living in a shelter while trying to navigate school, fit in with peers, and maintain a sense of normalcy can be especially challenging. Having a real, professional haircut makes a world of difference—it builds confidence, brightens their day, and helps them feel their best when walking into the classroom.

Beyond the fantastic cuts, spending time in the chair provided our young clients with meaningful interactions with great role models and a chance to explore potential future career paths in the hair and barber industry!

(Note: In the photos, we have carefully covered our youth's faces to respect and protect their anonymity.)

We also want to send out a heartfelt thank you to our entire community. The response to our call for hair care professionals was absolutely amazing! We received so many wonderful offers of support, and we look forward to reaching out to the other local barbers and stylists who volunteered as our clients need hair care in the future. 💙✨

To say we are grateful would be an understatement—our community is truly one of a kind! 💙✂️

The outpouring of love, kindness, and support in response to our call for hair care services has blown us away. Our inbox and voicemail are filled with incredible stylists, barbers, and salons stepping up to offer their time, talent, and heart for our kids.

What has made this response so extra special are the stories shared in those calls and messages. Many of you reaching out told us that you were once a child at Childhaven yourself, or that a relative was, or that someone in your family came through our doors for a forensic interview or was supported through foster care. Hearing how full-circle these connections have come is deeply moving.

Times like these remind us of the profound, lasting impact our work has on generations of families—and how beautiful it is to see that care come back around.

Because of your overwhelming willingness to help, we are building a go-to directory of local hair care providers who have offered their services so our kids can always feel confident, cared for, and looking their best. We will reach out to you when we have clients that need your services.

Thank you for wrapping your arms around our mission, sharing your personal stories with us, and showing up when it matters most. We appreciate each and every one of you!

✂️ CALLING ALL TALENTED BARBERS & STYLISTS! ✂️

Do you have a passion for styling hair and giving back to the community? Childhaven is looking for a licensed barber or beautician willing to donate their time and talents to give our young male shelter residents a fresh look!

We currently have 5 awesome young men in need of a cut right now, and after that, it would just be an as-needed/occasional request. Bonus: You don't even have to leave your chair—we will bring the clients straight to your shop! 🚗💨

What we’re looking for:

-- Must be a licensed barber or cosmetologist/stylist.

-- Experience and confidence working with all hair textures and types—including straight, tight curls, textured, and thick, wiry hair! 💈✨

How we’d love to thank you:
We know your time and expertise are valuable! In appreciation for your generosity, we’d love to feature you and your shop on our social media channels to give your business some well-deserved spotlight and community love. ❤️

PS. We'll need services for young women in the future too, so please feel free to contact us if you'd like to cut/ style their hair.

We are still smiling from such an incredible evening on Main Street! ☀️

A huge thank you to the Farmington Police Department - New Mexico and Juan Safe Communities Initiative and everyone that made Farmington Night Out event such a fantastic, family-friendly event. We had an absolute blast meeting so many wonderful local families, handing out treats, playing games with kids (and kids-at-heart!), and soaking up that unbeatable community spirit. 💙

We also want to give a massive shoutout to all the amazing fellow non-profits and resource booths that came out. Seeing so many dedicated organizations working together to support our community is truly inspiring.

Thank you again to everyone who stopped by our booths to say hi. We are so proud to be part of such a supportive, connected community! ✨

🍕 Big Smiles, Giant Checks, and Plenty of Pizza! 🍕

We had absolute blast celebrating the Grand Opening of the brand-new Little Caesars at 2404 W Main St here in Farmington! It was a beautiful day for an outdoor party, complete with face painting, a DJ pumping out great tunes, a prize wheel, and even a lucky winner taking home free pizza for a year!

Our Development Director, Jennifer Gray, attended the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and accepted a wonderfully generous $500 donation check on behalf of Childhaven. To make the day even sweeter (and tastier!), Little Caesars sent Jennifer back with several fresh, warm pizzas for the kids staying in our emergency children's shelter.

One of our favorite highlights was participating in the traditional "First Bite" ceremony—check out the photos of everyone diving into that first slice together! Safe to say, it was absolutely delicious. 😋

Thank you to the Caesars team for welcoming our community with open arms, supporting our children's shelter, and putting on such a fantastic event. Welcome to the neighborhood! ❤️
