Here is a quick thing we can all do to try and reinstate checks and balances among our governmental branches (because you know...SCOTUS just decided that the president has immunity in all official matters of the office but didn't lay out what makes it official beyond constitutional duties which we all know are an interpretation mess at this modern day and age).

Please sign and share! Congress could still fix this if we pressure them to do so!

The Supreme Court declared that criminal law doesn’t apply when you’re Donald Trump or any other president using the powers of the office. Demand a constitutional amendment now.

New Mexico had the highest rates of police killings in 2023. Farmington and the murder of Robert Dotson by police was mentioned in particular. It's interesting how the chief of police often likes to say the issues with police violence are not in small communities like ours when in reality we are making national news.

A new community center is coming to Shiprock soon!! This is all thanks to the awesome work of Dine Introspective, a "Native-led 501(c)(3) community based non-profit organization located in the Navajo Nation strengthening communities through social justice, environmental justice, digital justice, food sovereignty and energy conservation".
They are having a ground breaking type fundraising event next week, so check out the flyers for more information below to figure out how you can help support this amazing cause.

I had a student (7 years old) stay in from recess last week to talk to me because she said she doesn't like coming to school. When I asked her why she got really emotional. She doesn't like coming to school because she knows about all of the school shootings that have happened and the kids that have been killed.

This epidemic of gun violence is a thousand percent impacting the mental health of our youth. These are not their problems, but they are left dealing with it. This is no way for a child to be living.

Why only Albuquerque I wonder? Not that I think banning open carry will really change much but at least she is making a statement.

God damnit dude. We've spent so much time focusing on racist police these last few years it almost seems as though 4CCJ has failed to address the need to focus on racist pieces of s**t in every walk of life. Condemn the racial killings in Jacksonville Florida all you want President Joe Biden but we need something actionable to make these racial killings STOP.

We need more access to and focus on mental health for youth as well as more stringent background screenings for purchasing of weapons. And we can't keep curriculum in our school that pretends "color doesn't exist.
". We need ANTI RACIST teachings required as SEL (social emotional learning) NOW because obviously this is not a teaching that can be left up to the families at home.
