Beautiful sunrise today at the John Wickenheiser pad! Week 1 of winter obedience training in the books with a great turnout. Thank you everyone for your support and participation in this event. We worked on place training and a healing course with dogs under major distractions with socializing with 20 plus dogs. We also provided some demonstrations on come and kennel training to work on this next week as well. Now our members will work on fundamentals, timing and trust this week and we will continue to fine tune these dogs preparing for our field training this spring.

Quick update…RRV now has 18 members signed up for our winter obedience training. For week one, February 16, we will have Jeff Bozak joining us. Jeff, formerly from Mutt Hut, will help provide ideas to establish a training foundation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
✓ New members wanting to meet the club and learn about NAVHDA

-Flat collar & 6' leash
-Martingale or prong collar
-Treats/clicker (if treat training)
-E-collar (if doing off-leash work)

Three of the 5 dogs from Wicks kennels who received perfect scores at last falls test. These 3 individuals (Todd Mc Michael, Logan Wickenheiser and Jasimine Ercinck) utilized Red River Valley NAVHDA Chapter to help bring out the Natural Ability of their dogs during our training nights last year. All three are planning to utilize RRV to run them in our GDT (gun dog test) in August. Come and join our team and get your membership now!
