Center for Individual Freedom

Center for Individual Freedom Center for Individual Freedom is a non-profit constitutional and free market advocacy organization. Constitution. Legislative activities. Education.

Founded in 1998, the Center for Individual Freedom is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with the mission to protect and defend individual freedoms and individual rights guaranteed by the U.S. The Center seeks to focus public, legislative and judicial attention on the rule of law as embodied in the federal and state constitutions. Those fundamental documents both express and safeguard society

’s commitment to individual freedom, not only through specific protections such as the Bill of Rights, but also through structural protections that constrain and disperse governmental authority. In addition, the Center seeks to foster intellectual discourse by bringing together independent thinkers to examine broad-ranging issues of individual freedom in our global society. While the Center is decidedly for individual freedom, scholars and legal authorities who share that same basic philosophy differ as to the application of those principles in the complex world in which we live. The Center strives for balanced debate that encourages conflict resolution where there is tension between the rights of individuals and the requirements of government, as well as between individuals. The Center engages in three distinct but complementary activities:

Legal activities. It is a fundamental premise of the Center that the courts are rapidly supplanting legislative and public initiatives, as our increasingly diverse Republic seeks to balance the interests of individuals, interest groups and government. The Center will engage constitutional authorities to participate in major litigation on behalf of fundamental individual rights protection. State legislatures and the US Congress at times introduce and pass legislation that violates the Constitution. The Center seeks to make its voice heard on important legislative issues affecting constitutional rights and freedoms. Through a variety of publications, seminar sponsorships, issues papers and briefings, news bulletins and broadsides, the Center seeks to reaffirm the plain language imperatives of the US Constitution, relating it to contemporary conflicts that cannot be allowed to erode or circumvent it. Based in Alexandria, Virginia, the Center for Individual Freedom is a nonprofit, 501(c)(4) corporation that relies on private financial support from individuals, associations, foundations and corporations. There's an old saying: Those who can, do; those who can't, teach. A similar idea underscores the debate over wealth taxes in California and elsewhere: Those who can, build companies. Those who can't, devise ways for the government to take shares in what others have built.

The public institutions commanding the highest levels of trust are those more closely associated with traditionally conservative principles of free markets, strong national defense and public order: small businesses, the military and police.

In today’s polarized political climate, a yearly Gallup survey offers revealing insight into what still manages to unite Americans. Namely, the public institutions commanding the highest levels of trust are those more closely associated with traditionally conservative principles of free markets, s...

Voters across the nation should watch this unfold and learn from it as they're wooed by other candidates offering Mamdani-like theatrical appeal and utopian visions but no experience governing.

"At this rate, how long until outright and undisguised hostility toward Israel becomes not a bug within Democratic politics, but a feature?"

In a transparent effort to occupy what remains of the “moderate” lane in Democrats’ inceptive 2028 presidential contest, Emanuel traveled to Israel this month to castigate it for alleged strategic, diplomatic and moral failures. What Emanuel delivered, however, was not moderation.

"For BEAD to truly be a success, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) must continue its good work in taking swift and decisive action to ensure providers can attach fiber to utility poles."

The conditions for BEAD to succeed now are largely in place. But a mundane yet critical chokepoint could make or break the program’s deployments: broadband providers’ access to utility poles. For BEAD to truly be a success, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) must continue its good work ...

"Only 31% of Americans are still in the middle class because the upper middle class has grown from 10% of households to over 30%. The middle class is shrinking because the upper middle class is expanding."

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she knows why socialism is on the rise: Blame it on the boomers.

"When New Yorkers voted for a socialist to run the city, it was as if they were signing a death sentence for the famous Wall Street bull."

The New York Stock Exchange opened its doors over 230 years ago. It has been one of the iconic symbols of America's economic might for more than two centuries. But for how much longer? Now the challenge for supremacy isn't coming from London or Tokyo or Hong Kong or Beijing. It's coming from Texas.

If history is any judge, it's wise to bet on the Trump economy and against his critics – who have a perfect record of being wrong.

Pardon the arguably crude rhetoric, but who would be stupid enough to suggest that Iran is somehow in a stronger place than it was three months ago before the United States and Israel commenced their coordinated military campaign against it?
