Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, NAPS is very active in the national political arena. NAPS' political action committee, SPAC, has donated over $300,000 annually to various political campaigns and that number continues to grow every year. NAPS has an active letter-writing campaign and has authored several issue papers concerning NAPS issues and issues concerning the Postal Service.

🎙 Dennis Shea, former executive director of the 2003 Presidential Commission on the U.S. Postal Service, joins Bob Levi on NAPS Chat to revisit the recommendations of the panel established by former President George W. Bush and reminisce about the panel's deliberations.

📬 The commission's report, Embracing the Future: Making the Tough Choices to Preserve Universal Mail Service, is now about 23 years old.

📑 Dennis and Bob dust it off and discuss whether the commission's conclusions still resonate and whether it's time for another high-level panel to take a look at the Postal Service.

NAPS Headquarters received a letter from the USPS dated September 8, 2026, regarding employment status of employees detailed to the S&DC not-to-exceed (NTE) Launch Team. The USPS has moved the effective date from September 5, 2026, to October 3, 2026, to allow employees

For the past five years, Ivan Butts has been at the helm of the National Association of Postal Supervisors. His leadership as president has left a lasting impression on the organization, shown through his dedication and commitment to the Postal Service and its employees. On Aug. 14, President Butts said his final goodbyes to NAPS, proudly stepping into retirement. As he described it, "Serving as president of NAPS has been the greatest honor of my career."
