NAPS — A Postal 'Thought Leader' By Bob Levi, NAPS Director of Legislative & Political Affairs ➡️ On June 9, NAPS President Ivan D. Butts once again participated in a postal roundtable conducted by the Congressional Postal Service Caucus co-chaired by Reps. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL) and Jack Bergman (R-MI). The event took place in the U.S. Capitol. NAPS, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC), four mailer organizations and the National Association of Letter Carriers were seated at the "roundtable." 🎙 With only weeks to go before the 2026 National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS) convention convenes, veteran event planner Sheri Davies joins Bob to discuss the multitude of preparatory and real time tasks essential to ensure convention success. Sheri and Bob also talk about what the approximately 1,300 attendees should expect in San Francisco, August 9-14. Sheri has been planning events with NAPS for 17 years and has established a close and constructive relationship with NAPS' officers and members.

The USPS Shines at the National Postal Forum, By Jimmy Warden, NAPS Secretary/Treasurer ➡️ In May, I had the pleasure, along with Ivan and Chuck, to once again attend the National Postal Forum held this year in Phoenix. The forum is a yearly event where mailers and companies whose businesses are affiliated in any way with the mailing industry attend, as well as Postal Service officials. NAPS Tucson Branch 376 Treasurer John Aceves attended a fundraiser, for Congresswoman Grijalva (D-AZ) The event was well attended, and Congresswoman Grijalva made a point to personally greet each guest. Congresswoman Grijalva remembered NAPS from the branch 376 LTS visit in March 2026.

The Perils of Favoritism, By Ivan D. Butts, NAPS National President ➡️ I was speaking with a NAPS advocate who recounted a conversation they had with a local USPS executive concerning a USPS policy being violated. The advocate was surprised when the USPS executive asked where the policy could be found. Unfortunately, I am not surprised we have numbers of USPS executives at various levels of leadership who fail to meet the basic KSA of "Knowledge of Postal Policies and Procedures."
