This summer, Fairfax County teens got creative and learned about upcycling by creating art using recycled materials in a collage workshop led by Eleftheria Easley Creative Expressions and ArtsFairfax. 🖼️ The teens were part of the Zero Waste Ambassador program, a partnership between the Fairfax County Solid Waste Management Program and Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services. The 10-week program equipped teens with the skills and knowledge to become waste management and environmental change champions. ♻️

Calling local artists! There's just one week left to apply to be featured in “Exploring the Great Outdoors,” the next ArtsFairfax Presents show scheduled from October to January at Lincolnia Senior Center. 🖼️ Whether it's a landscape, an image capturing the playful spirit of local critters, or a depiction of one of the many events taking place in our community, the submission should celebrate the parks, waterways, and inhabitants of Fairfax County green spaces and beyond. 🌳

Learn more about applicant eligibility criteria, grants guidelines, and the award process. Grants staff will explain and answer questions about changes to the FY27 grant application and awards. FY27 Ticket & Participation Subsidy Grant applications are now open! 📋️

Ticket & Participation Subsidy Grants fund free and reduced-price tickets, tuition, and transportation for performances, workshops, classes, and camps for people who may not have regular opportunities to experience the arts. Arts organizations based in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the City of Falls Church may be eligible to apply. A complete list of eligibility criteria is available on our website.

Angelique’s evocative words intertwine beautifully with Shu-Chen’s choreography, creating a vibrant tapestry that resonates with audiences on multiple levels.
