This Black History Month, we are honoring the teachers who have inspired (and continue to inspire) generations with their wisdom, courage, and pursuit of equality for all. Today, let's allow the words of Booker T. Washington to challenge us: how can you "pull up" others? Tell us in the comments and let's inspire each other!

We talk a lot about how JAG prepares students for careers through skills, but what truly sets the JAG model apart is our emphasis on emotional resilience.

We know if students don't feel safe, they don't learn. Across the nation, our students face an average of 10+ barriers to success, from poverty to past trauma. Grounded in trauma-informed practices, our socio-emotional approach addresses students’ needs through individualized support that fosters resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

And it works. Our data consistently shows that JAG students graduate and achieve positive post-secondary outcomes far above the national average. JAG is helping students not just set themselves up for success in the years to come - they are changing the dynamics of their families and communities.

This is powerful, important work. But don't take our word for it - hear it directly from our students!

JAG Perspectives: Educational partner Civics Unplugged joined JAG at NSLA in December, helping prepare hundreds of students for impactful conversations with their congresspeople about the vital role JAG plays in their lives and communities, and how to support them.

Read what Director of Civic Trust and Recruitment Zoë Jenkins had to say about her time spent at NSLA, "The JAG students we worked with at NSLA proved what we have always believed: young people aren't waiting for permission to create change. They are ready to lead—they just need partners willing to invest in their potential. That is the future being built by young people today."

Head over to https://buff.ly/kbU412R to read more from Zoë about her experience partnering with JAG and our students!

When we talk about bridging the gap between education and workforce development, we're not only focusing on skills. Our national network of over 80,000 students gives us a unique lens into the values Gen Z shares that inform their career priorities.

Many of us in older generations bought into a set trajectory of success, defined by measurements and milestones of advancement and wealth - even at the expense of other important aspects of our lives, such as our relationships and mental health. This generation of students - the next wave of our workforce - has different ideas about how they measure success: balance over self-sacrifice, investing in quality time with family over maxxing out wealth, and a sense of purpose over flashy titles and climbing a corporate ladder.

These values are changing the landscape of how companies recruit and retain the best and brightest talent, and we have to acknowledge them in our conversations about bridging the workforce gap. How do you see this reflected in your own company? How do you think this generation will influence the future of workforce development? Let's talk about it!

JAG's mission to empower our nation’s young people with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment, and life isn't just a pretty slogan.

It's backed by decades of proven outcomes. Part of how we track those outcomes is by conducting case studies with our employer partners to explore how they engage with students to help them become future employees and equip them with the skills to succeed in those industries.

Our most recent case study with is a perfect example of how employers can meaningfully invest in tomorrow's workforce and gain valuable insights about the next generation of employees.

With an eye on an increased need for labor in the energy sector, Entergy and JAG implemented targeted programs designed to educate, prepare, and connect students with real-world experiences in the energy industry. The results are undeniable: students who completed the Entergy Workforce Readiness Boot Camp had a 79% higher success rate than those who did not.

Visit https://buff.ly/LaexK48 to read more from our case study with Entergy and envision how you and your company can partner with JAG to build lasting pathways into your industry!
