Thank you to our incredible staff at the Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA for jumping into action and helping save a life. Staff training and preparedness are a core priority so our teams are ready for when it matters most!

This week is CPR/AED Awareness Week – and we have an extraordinary story to share!

On March 25, 2026, staff at the Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA did something heroic. When a Y member experienced a medical emergency, our team acted immediately – providing bystander CPR and serving as a critical link in the chain of survival. That member experienced the best possible outcome.

In recognition of their swift, courageous action, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue honored our Monroe Y staff with the Civilian Life Saving Award – given for extraordinary assistance in a lifesaving effort before the arrival of first responders.

We are so proud of this team!
