Ahoy! Another fantastic Tuesday evening under sail with Sea Scout Ship 226!

We had a great turnout tonight and were especially excited to welcome a couple of new Sea Scouts aboard. They survived their first sail, learned the ropes (literally), and nobody accidentally sailed us to Canada—so we'll call it a successful night! 😄

With Electra and Segundo both underway, our crews spent the evening trimming sails, taking the helm, practicing teamwork, and chasing the breeze around Possession Sound. As every sailor knows, the wind doesn't always follow the forecast, but that's half the adventure.

Every Tuesday is another chance to trade screens for sails, learn new skills, make great friends, and discover that the best classroom has a mast, a tiller, and a deck that occasionally reminds you to watch your footing.

Fair winds, following seas, and we'll see everyone next Tuesday!

Good news—Gypsy Wind is back in the water! ⚓⛵

After some hard work and repairs, she's floating where she belongs and ready to sail again. Tomorrow we'll be heading out with the Sea Scouts for an afternoon of hands-on sailing, learning, and adventure on the water.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Gypsy Wind and Sea Scout Ship 226. Every day on the water helps us build confidence, leadership, and seamanship in the next generation.

Fair winds, and we'll see you out on the Sound!

This was a lot of fun!

Poseidon smiled on Sea Scout Ship 226 this Tuesday with an amazing early spring sail. We had a perfect 10-knot breeze, comfortable Pacific Northwest spring weather, and one of those unforgettable sunsets on the Salish Sea that reminds us how lucky we are to be out on the water together.

As Gypsy Wind continues through her ongoing repairs, we are especially thankful for the encouragement, prayers, well wishes, and generous support that so many have shared with our youth sailing program. Your kindness means more than words can say.

Sea Scout Ship 226 is proud to provide free sailing opportunities for youth and their families, and every bit of support helps keep that mission alive. We are grateful, humbled, and thankful to have such a caring community alongside us on this voyage.

Thank you for helping us keep the wind in our sails.

💙 Help Save Gypsy Wind 💙

On March 11th, a derelict sailboat broke loose and slammed into our flagship, Gypsy Wind.

PSC Marine has quoted repairs at $54,000. We do have insurance, but it will not cover everything, including our $6,600 deductible and other out-of-pocket costs.

This won’t stop our Sea Scout program, but it will set us back dramatically and limit our youth activities, training, community service, and voyages this season.

Please help us by sharing this post, donating to our GoFundMe, or booking a family vacation aboard Gypsy Wind.

Thank you for helping us keep Gypsy Wind sailing for our youth and our community.
