It was an emotional day yesterday as we celebrated our latest graduating class from the Culinary Training Pathway.

CONGRATULATIONS to our (ex)Trainees that have spent so much time and effort on reaching this milestone, and we wish you all the absolute best as your journey continues toward new opportunities! You will always be family to us, so please know we are here for you and could not be more proud of the accomplishments you have made.

We also wanted to give a special shoutout to their trainer, Cody. He joined us recently and has been giving his all to ensure the best for his students. This was his first graduating class, and we are so proud of the hard work he has been doing to make yesterday a reality.

So what exactly does our training program look like? We are glad you asked!

Participants take part in four weeks of in classroom instruction plus 4-8 weeks of on the job mentorship. Those that complete the course go onto graduate and be encouraged to explore different career or education pathways, with additional assistance and support being offered to all alumni. Job placement might also be possible with local partners, depending on availability.

Last Thursday, we hosted a garden party at Kindred Kitchen to celebrate the completion of our brand new culinary kitchen! Staff and trainees cooked up a delicious three course meal and provided tours of the new kitchen to attendees.

This culinary kitchen has been in the works for a while now and will allow our training programs to expand what is offered to academy participants, while also expanding the catering capacity of Kindred Kitchen.

We want to wish a special thank you to the Gates Foundation for providing vital funding for this new operation. We can not wait to see the lasting impact of this expansion for years to come.
