Center for Independent Futures Center for Independent Futures is a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities.

What We Do:

Person-Centered Coaching and Education- Through coaching and experiential learning, work alongside individuals with disabilities using a straightforward, person-centered approach to support them in living full and independent lives. Community-Based Supported Housing- Address one of the most important and least satisfied needs of people with disabilities: affordable, safe, and inclusive housing in their community, near family, loved ones, and friends, with access to transportation, jobs, shopping, services, and entertainment. Inclusive Community Building- Encourage people with different gifts and talents to band together, reach out for mutual support, form communities, and create the conditions for all to thrive.

Last Sunday was The Chicago Marathon!!!! 🏃‍♀️

We had such an amazing team of runners who surpassed their fundraising goals and raised a record amount for CIF!!!! We couldn’t be more grateful for this amazing team of people!!!!!!

PLUS, they just ran a marathon, how cool is that?!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! To kick off the month, we’re highlighting Daniel, who recently landed a new job! 🥳

With support from his Life Skills Coach, Daniel worked on job searching, filling out applications, and using My Full Life™ courses to help him gain the skills he needed to identify jobs he’s interested in and show up confidently in his interview!

Getting a job offer is always exciting, and we’re so happy to celebrate this important milestone with Daniel! 🎉
